Wordless Wednesday – Stray dog

~totally not wordless…

Our next door neighbor seems to have his share of house guests. Friends and family who he helps out by giving them a place to stay for awhile. These people are invariably men and I have come to calling them “stray dogs” because my husband will invite them over for a beer and then they never go away.

The other day, one of the stray dogs was outside in the cold with a big rock and a circular saw and he was cutting into it. I asked him “are you cutting a rock?” And he laughed and said “I’m making a sculpture.” I laughed to myself as I went into the house thinking, “ok, whatever dude.”

I then went to get my camera. Here is what I saw:

I just laughed watching him cut a rock with that saw thinking he was TOTALLY NUTS, not to mention smoking something.

Um, yeah…I was way wrong. My husband took a picture of the finished sculpture. I’ll shut up now.

  5. Ren says:

It’s beautiful! It’s amazing what you can do with power tools and an imagination!

  6. Karen says:

WOW! Maybe he would make something for you. Is this a hobby or is he an actual artist? Now I think the artist in you would like to discuss this with him.

  7. Wow! I wonder what else he has done.
I could never sculpt anything that involved a power saw. Power tools make me all queasy thinking about possible accidents.

  8. Eryn says:

    Wow, that’s something else!

I dated a guy whose mom made some really neat sculptures out of granite. Drove all over the country collecting good rock to cut up. You’re right, they do look insane when they’re at it, the very idea of being able to see that shape within a rock is beyond me.

i would lose a limb! lol

  9. Lori says:

    That’s really cool!

  10. Rhea says:

    Wow! That’s amazing!!
