Who better to judge smelly tales? My 5 minutes of fame!

I openly admit to being easily amused. And easily distracted. Swing something shiny in front of my face and I…um. Yeah.

One of my favorite sources of amusement is getting packages in the mail, and writing this blog has opened up a whole plethora of cool deliveries! My children have a seriously warped sense of the US Mail and are personally acquainted with the UPS and FedEd delivery ladies. My son is also forming a friendship with the DHL driver who has been here a few times too. One day last week they had all been here!

Until Ed McMahon delivers me a big giant cardboard check, my best delivery has to be one I just got the other day. It combines my most favorite thing, getting a package in the mail, with my least favorite thing…STINKY stuff! More specifically, stinky diapers.

CHECK IT OUT:

Let’s all take a moment of silence out of respect for such a wonderful, beautiful creation……

Seriously. This thing was made for me. I have super nose, and I’m not just talking about it’s size (why does it seem to be growing?). I can smell the neighbors dirty diapers (well, their kids dirty diapers, not theirs…I hope) and am always complaining (who me?) about smells. There’s a reason this blog has the name it does!

I can’t wait to put this thing to the test. So far, so good, but we need to get a couple more of Abby’s “brings tears to your eyes” toxic waste diapers in there to know for sure.

Anyhow, where does the fame come in you are asking? Yes, I can read your mind.

Well, Playtex, the creator of my new best friend the Diaper Genie Elite II, has launched a new site called Baby Smells in order to introduce the new Diaper Genie. The site contains information about a baby’s sense of smell, what they can smell and how certain smells affect them. Baby Smells also contains a series of videos from 3 families who really know about smelly tales, and an opportunity to submit your own smelly tale.

That’s where my 5 minutes of fame comes in.

I was chosen as one of the judges. Ironically, it was the name “What’s That Smell?” that got their attention to begin with. To check out the contest (and see a picture of me) go here: Playtex Diaper Genie Smelly Tales Contest. I want to warn you that I had to take that picture myself because no one else was here but Jake and he couldn’t get my whole head in the picture (no comments Lori…). I didn’t intentionally have on my “what’s that smell?” face, but apparently I did….

NO MOCKING ALLOWED!

How fun! How many diapers do those things hold before you have to take it out?

  3. Tiffany says:

LMAO! Geez Kim, you couldn’t muster even a little bit of a smile? :p

I tried to use the original diaper genie with my daughter but the smell that came out of that thing when you opened the lid.It was enough to activate my gag reflex.I really hope they improved that feature. I didn’t use it for very long it was just easier to take the toxic waste out to the trash and let the squirrels enjoy the aroma.Good luck with the judging it sounds like a fun job.

Love the Diaper Genie II!!! I can’t imagine what I would do without it. When you open the lid to put a new diaper in, man…………that really knocks your socks off!! :) I’m glad it keeps all that in there. Have fun with the judging.
