What’s With all the Blinkin’ Blankin’ Puddles?

This past week and this weekend was filled with all sorts of activity and adventure. This weekend specifically, there seemed to be some confusion in my house that this sign would have clarified:

It all started with my son. I was cleaning the house for a family get-together on Saturday and discovered a puddle at the base of the hall toilet, which is the bathroom Jake uses.

I’ve seen him pee.

He has no interest in aiming.

So he doesn’t bother.

I found some on the wall once….

Don’t worry, I photographed it after I cleaned it up.

Then later that day I was sitting at my desk rocking my sleeping daughter. From where I sit I can see into her bedroom.

While I was checking my email I heard a sound…

like running water…

but not…

I turned toward the sound to see Max, our German shepherd peeing on the floor in Abby’s room.

Yeah…that was great fun to clean up.

Then, last night around 1 am or so, I was sitting at my desk feeding my daughter (Yes, while surfing the web and blogging. You didn’t think I actually had real time to do this did you?) when Simon the golden retriever came up almost next to me and started peeing on our bedroom floor.

I’m not kidding.

I thought I was dreaming, but no, my wet foot was proof positive that I was not.

I had to wake up Ed to clean that one up since Abby still hadn’t finished her bottle – well, she was asleep, but there was still milk in the bottle :) shhh…don’t tell.

So tell me, what’s with all the puddles?

Jenny, mine have done it right in front of me so I guess maybe that is better than “phantom pee”

  6. Jenny says:

That’s so strange…Joe’s dogs have started do the same thing lately! We can’t figure it out, or figure out who it is. Joe’s thinking of setting up a webcam to catch the guilty party. Good luck, I know it is frustrating!
