To each his own.
Some things are cultural, they have been eaten and handed down as tradition for generations. For them these foods are delicacies and they wouldn’t understand my aversion to them.
But really, from my perspective, some things just look and sound too gross to be eaten.
Seeing the pictures below may be a great diet motivator for some people, because it may cause you to lose your lunch or simply never eat again.
Deep Fried Starfish on a Stick – China
Tiet Canh, Vietnam
(raw blood and congealed meat soup with a consistency like Jell-o)
Fried Guinea Pig, Ecuador
Balut, Philippines
(hard-boiled 18-day-old fertilized duck embryo)
Live Baby Octopus, South Korea
Durian, Southeast Asia
(spikey fruit with a rotted, putrid odor)

OMG ewww. I feel like puking. That would get me some extra calories for the day, right?!
Ok, so I read your emails in my email before I come to comment … and I could TELL I shouldn’t have looked at the pictures, but I DID! YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!!! I probably won’t eat for the rest of the day .. I my breakfast is still fighting to stay in my stomach!!
Blood … toes … duck babies … YUCK!
OH NO!!! You couldn’t PAY me to eat any of those things.
I think I just vomited in my mouth…
none of those things would appeal to me–I would lose weight for sure if that was all that was available. It makes you wonder how the first person to eat it thought of eating it.
