Walt Disney World Special Offer for U.S. Military

mickeyI’ve never been to Walt Disney World, or any of the Disney theme parks but I’ve always wanted to. One day we hope to be able to take our kids, and if Disney keeps offering great deals for the U.S. Military, the likelihood of us being able to go is much better. My husband is retired Navy.

Right now, Walt Disney World is saluting men and women who serve (Active Duty and Retired and also includes National Guard and Reservists).

First, they are offering 40% off on rooms at select Disney Moderate Resorts through Dec. 23, 2009 (some black-out dates apply).

Second, they are offering a complimentary 5-day “Disney’s Armed Forces Salute” ticket to each military member through Dec. 23, 2009.

Finally, they are offering up to five 5-Day “Disney’s Armed Forces Salute Companion” tickets for $99 for each military member so they can take the whole family at a greatly reduced rate. A typical 5-day ticket would cost $187 – $222, depending upon age.

“Disney’s Armed Forces Salute” tickets can be obtained only at participating U.S. military base ticket offices (including at the Shades of Green Resort at the Walt Disney World® Resort), or at main entrance theme park ticket windows. For more information, check out the special offer page on the Walt Disney World website. I am dreaming of Orlando vacations!

  1. thank you so much for keeping us informed – my trip in March will cost practically nothing now and I am so excited – how do you thank Disney for something like this – THANKS AGAIN for everything you do here!!!!!

  2. That’s awesome. I am going to pass this on to my brother and some other military family/friends that I have.

You need to go!!! Especially after your recent hospital ordeal! We had SO much fun! Seven days of 80 degree weather sure is nice!! The van was iced shut when we got home yesterday. Oh, the fun of living in the midwest!

  4. That is nice however I wish they had extended it to those who served their enlisted time. My uncle served 4 years in Vietnam. He since has worked for the railroad and still does today. I would of like to see him be able to take advantage of this offer as well. I wonder why those who served faithfully for their term was not included in this offer?

  5. That’s wonderful! Glad to hear Disney is doing something nice for the military.

  6. That’s awesome. Maybe they’ll open this up to fire/police/ems in the next few years and we’d definitely be able to go. (providing I’m not pregnant again lol)

  7. Kim says:

I am anxious to hear if they respond!

  8. People from Disney are on Twitter. I asked your question. If I get a response I’ll let you know.

  9. Kim says:

You know, I see a lot of things like that where all of a sudden there is a promotion for military and they leave out veterans in general.
If I had Disney’s ear, I’d give them a piece of my mind for you!
Do you still get to use the commissary and stuff as a veteran?

  10. Rachel says:

Too bad vets who didn’t retire can’t participate. I’m waiting for my chance to see Disney!
