Ok, I know FeedBurner is a free service and all but I am getting really annoyed with the fluctuations it shows with our subscribers count. This may mean ABSOLUTELY nothing to those of you with blogs, but internally, FeedBurner shows we have 923 subscribers and that little box at the top right is only showing 297 of you. The counter is totally not counting the 600+ email subscribers for some reason. This seems to happen quite frequently to the point where I question if I should be advertising that I use FeedBurner at all and wonder if I should switch – or if I even can switch, to some other service.
I thought Google taking them over was supposed to make it better? At least it could mess up and show a surplus of extra subscribers!

It never seemed to actually mess up the subscribers themselves, only the reporting of them. If I dug deep enough in my account, it was still acknowledging the email subscribers but for some reason for a couple of days they public count display was off.
Kim, I totally am having this problem too. I have over 400 and it has been in the 100s for awhile now. I don’t know if I lost them all together or what?? I know some people are getting the feed… but I’m not getting my own feed so what is up? It does make a difference with reviews like kathleen said. so frustrating.
Mine came back and other people said they were still getting my emails. I’m getting my own too so it looks like no harm was done except to make me panic. What about you?
Mine fluctuates too, so I don’t publicize it. Nothing seems to be working lately. Not twitter, not Feedburner, blogger, WP, nuthin’
I’m torn between not publicizing it because I am kind of proud of it and love to watch it everyday – I’m itching to hit 1,000 and want to see it roll over. But when I lose 600 subscribes, well…just sucks.
Mine has been going crazy lately. Right now yours says 824, did you do something to fix it? I am so curious now.
I didn’t do anything, it fixed itself. How about yours?
Mine keeps fluctuating and I’ve transferred my feed and both stats are vastly different so I feel you. (((hugs)))
Now you have me interested. I never really checked my stats before as I don’t have a chicklet up. I just checked, and decided to optimize my feed, and “give it legs” like they suggested!

i’m i still on it or am’i mia ? lol i know theres been a lot of others here on line that also dealing with the same thing i well did get the blog sent to me in my e-mail so well i may be still there with you on your list ?? the olny thing i cant use on my end all that much is theis the feed list orange button thats why every one i had on my feed list or still do have i have to see if i can start geting there blogs sent to my e-mail box since well found out any thing that is saved in the favorites or on the feed list can marke your p.c. run realy slow to where your al ways haveing to defrag the p.c. so that well it will run right. so well i’m spending my free time here on line most of the time i’m well reading the mail in my e-mail box a long with all the blogs i get sent there or well defraging my p.c. so i can do more then just read the mail lol well i hope i’m still there on your list if not i reput my self in for you
As you know, I’ve been having this issue too, and it annoys me. I know it’s free, so I shouldn’t complain, but when you use your subscriber stats for getting reviews/giveaways, it really is important. I also thought that when Google took over, that it would be better.
It seems like the counter is just messed up, because I still get your email feed. Hopefully they fix it soon!
