Ok, I know FeedBurner is a free service and all but I am getting really annoyed with the fluctuations it shows with our subscribers count. This may mean ABSOLUTELY nothing to those of you with blogs, but internally, FeedBurner shows we have 923 subscribers and that little box at the top right is only showing 297 of you. The counter is totally not counting the 600+ email subscribers for some reason. This seems to happen quite frequently to the point where I question if I should be advertising that I use FeedBurner at all and wonder if I should switch – or if I even can switch, to some other service.
I thought Google taking them over was supposed to make it better? At least it could mess up and show a surplus of extra subscribers!

Hey mama – just happened upon your blog and this post because I was googling for a solution to this exact issue . . . have lost over 150 in #s since the beginning of the week. If I may ask, how long did it take for Feedburner to correct itself?
The most frustrating part is not being able to find a real live person (or email address even?) at Feedburner to get some answers or a solution. I guess I’m spoiled to Typepad where my issues are dealt with within an hour, literally. UGH.
Megan,
Thanks for dropping by!
I would say at most it took 2 days this time to fix itself. It’s been pretty stable lately. It still has a pattern of dropping a few and then 2 days later bringing them back then some, but it is usually 10 or 20, not 600!
Good luck with it. I still may explore another service if I can do a transfer and not lose subscribers.
Your comments are closed for Lent! I was clicking around trying to leave a comment and it said comments closed. So then I went to a few others and finally discovered they are closed for Lent.
At first I thought your blog didn’t like me, now I know the real reason. Awesome!
I’ve noticed that it fluctuates, too. Mine actually went down to zero for a whole week!
