Black Friday.
That crazy day after Thanksgiving when people get up at 4am to go shopping for huge deals.
But how do you plan? How do you know who is going to have the best deals so you don’t waste your time? It’s going to be crazy and you need to be smart in order to take advantage of the great discounts and actually snag your kid those Zhu Zhu Pets before they sell out.
There are rumors that certain Black Friday ads have been leaked, and some websites claim to be ‘in the know’ as far as what the stores are going to have in their Black Friday ads.
Below is a list I have compiled of my top 10 Black Friday resources on the web.
SlickDeals.net
SlickDeals.net is one of my very favorite sites for deals and shopping savings hands-down. It is a forum complete with user submitted tips and advice and their Black Friday 2009 forum will help you plan your Black Friday shopping with tips and advice from the trenches, from people who have been there, done that. There is also up-to-date information on the latest ads and discussions on which Black Friday deals are actually worth your time.
BlackFriday.info
BlackFriday.info has up-to-date news, lists of Black Friday sales items and even scans of store ads. My most favorite feature of this site is that you can register for a free account and add items to your shopping list to make it easy to keep track of your favorite deals. They also list coupons which is a great help when shopping online, and they also list better than Black Friday online deals and which Black Friday deals you can purchase online in case you are one who likes to avoid the crowds. This site is clearly organized and very easy to find what you are looking for.
DealTaker.com
Dealtaker.com has a clearly laid out site with links to top Black Friday stores, their associated Black Friday ads and also lists the latest Black Friday coupons. I don’t know why because it is not overly important but I love their little countdown clock. DealTaker also has an extremely active community forum and a handy spreadsheet that you can download that will work with Microsoft Excel to help you keep track of your favorite deals so you don’t miss anything.
Fatwallet.com
Fatwallet.com is another community led site with a very active forum. Aside from discussions in the forum about Black Friday deals, they also have a page devoted to Black Friday and Cyber Monday Rumors that provides a list of the rumored Black Friday items for all of the top stores. It is an attractive site and easy to find everything you are looking for.
Black-Friday.net
Black-Friday.net doesn’t appear to be as full featured as some of the other sites but it has a clear layout making it easy to locate the specific stores and items you want. This site also has a “shopping list” feature making it easy for you to bookmark your favorite items to help organize your Black Friday shopping.
BFAds.net
BFAds.net is a fairly full featured Black Friday resources site. They have buying guides, a community message board, scans of Black Friday ads, a hot deals section and the ability to create a shopping list. They also have contests where you can win some great prizes throughout November.
TGIBlackFriday.com
TGIBlackFriday.com is another site that doesn’t appear to be as full featured as some of the others, but the way they display the Black Friday deals with images instead of just links is far and away the best display of all the sites listed. They also have a shopping list feature and ad scans available for download. They also have a section for which deals can be found online.
I’m sure there are plenty of other great sites out there that cover Black Friday, these are some of my favorites. Let me know if I missed any!

I’ll be prepared this year at least, thanks!
I’m so ready for Black Friday, no game plan yet but I need a new computer.. well I need A Computer, haha.
As well as a microwave, vacuum, and a few guilty pleasures! :)
Oh thanks! My husband has to work this year so I’m hoping to get some great deals online.
Thanks Kim! I only knew about Black Friday.net and Have been stalking it. Now I’ll go check out the others to try and find a good deal on the DSi I need to find.
The only place I plan on going on BF is Sam’s Club, but I like to see what is available online and just plan in case I decide to stop somewhere else. I am not optimistic about finding a DSi on much of a sale, so I am just planning on getting it at Sam’s. Let me know if you come across a great deal on it though!
what kinds of deals does Sam’s plan on having? I just bought a TON of decorations there last night. Would love to finally experience BF, but I’m not crazy :)
