There are numerous ways to network to get your name and your blog out there in the “blogosphere”. Whatever your goals, if you want traffic you need to network.
Today I am highlighting Twitter as a way to meet people and network because so far it has been successful for me in the couple of short weeks I have been actively using it.
Twitter is a social network where you basically leave brief messages about what you are doing for all the world to see. You can follow others’ “tweets” and allow them to follow you, and then you can reply to each other and have a conversation. You can also announce your new blog posts, contests and more to drive traffic to your site.
It is a fun little way to pop in and meet a few interesting people and also to get your name seen by saying something interesting. Just the other I was contacted by a rep for a major company and am now involved in a fun new project with them that will get my blog seen by a lot of people. Simply because I was on Twitter and my Twitter name caught their attention.
Try it but be careful, it’s addicting!
If you sign up for Twitter or already have a Twitter account and want me to follow you, add your site link to the Mr. Linky below and MAKE SURE TO COMMENT and leave the link to your Twitter profile so I can follow you.
Also, there are blog plug-ins you can get for free (I’m positive for WordPress, not sure about the others) that will update your Twitter account with each blog post to help you maximize your presence on Twitter. You MUST get the plugin!
