I don’t have much else, with Abby being sick I’m sleep deprived! Hope your week is going well!

Jacqueline from Blessings Abound would like you to know about some friends of hers that could use some support.

I know many of you will not understand why they refust gov’t aid as they firmly believe against it due to their religious beliefs.  The short scheme of things is that this couple got married at a very young age, they were each other’s first relationship and got married through courtship.  They got pregnant immediately after they got married and wasn’t able to secure medical insurance.  She ended up having her little boy months early which resulted in emergency c-section and months of care at NICU resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.  They’ve set up a relief fund to help their financial situation.  This couple is by far sincerely honest and good people and this is legit.  You can check out their facebook and website they’ve set up for Preemie Tait here: http://www.littletait.com/ and http://apps.facebook.com/causes/249552?m=05304c83.

Karen from 3 Garnets & 2 Sapphires would like to let everyone know about EscaRosa Independence Weekend:

What is EscaRosa Independence Weekend?

EscaRosa Independence Weekend is an opportunity to support severely wounded American heroes who were injured on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan. From May 14-17th in the Pensacola Bay Area (Escambia and Santa Rosa counties), these men and women will be honored and cheered during several different events.

Events will include a 25 mile bicycle ride for wounded veterans and participants, a 5k family fun walk/run, an informational seminar  led by a panel of wounded veterans, and  a benefit concert presented by wounded Marine and rising country music star Stephen Cochran.

In addition to honoring these service members and their families, EIW is being organized to raise funds to help support the unmet needs of seriously wounded veterans. Proceeds and donations raised during Independence Weekend will be used to support the needs of ourwounded veterans and to provide tools, therapies, and guidance to help restore their independence and enhance their quality of life. These proceeds will be administered by the Independence Fund, Inc., a non-profit charity.

What is the Independence Fund?

The Independence Fund is an organization that provides veterans wounded in the Global War on Terror with extra medical care and support not otherwise available.  Established in Pensacola in August of 2007, the Independence Fund has accomplished the following:

• Awarded 20 high-end wheelchairs totaling $500,000 to service members who have lost their mobility fighting the War on Terror
• Awarded $35,000 for specialized hand-crank bicycles for paralyzed veterans
• Awarded more than 150 cash grants in varying amounts up to $2,500 to injured warriors and their families to meet urgent financial needs
• Offered monthly cash stipends to veterans awaiting their VA benefits

“Rallying the public to support these wounded warriors who volunteered to serve and protect our country is an extremely emotional and rewarding effort,” said Steven D. Danyluk, Independence Fund founder. “This event will serve several purposes: to show vets our gratitude, to challenge and assist them in gaining independence, and to serve as a role model for communities across the country so they may do the same.”

  2. That widget is awesome. I agree with what commented about the iPhone. I really want one, but how much does it cost to use all of it?

I went to a National Moms Nite Out party on the 7th and a lot of the women had iphones. My phone takes pictures and I can actually figure out HOW to use that camera but that’s it. And I’m fascinated by the iphone and maybe a little bit envious….but how much does it cost every month to be able to use the internet and stuff?

Our cell phone bill for 2 phones is like $50/mo, I picture the iphone stuff costing hundreds a month for the usage.

  4. Baba says:
