Today my son was busy spending a lot of time with some notebooks and a pencil. Part of the time he was stuck in his room for some infraction or another…I can’t even recall now. Anyhow, at one point I took a look at his notebooks and what I discovered was the cutest thing…

This reads:
Today is Thursday. Today mom cleans the house. Today I stay in my room until lunch and it is 10:47.

This reads:
Dear Abigail, Dad is cutting the grass but I need to go. Dear Jake.
Seriously, reading these brings tears to my eyes! He’s growing up so fast. One day he’s peeing all over my floor and wall, the next day he’s writing sentences. Next thing I know he’ll be a teenager and trying to find out how to get rid of acne.
BTW, Is it normal for a 4 1/2 year old to be able to write like this?

Thanks Karen, he’s an artist too, I’ll have to post some of his drawings!
Jenna, thank you! I just hope he doesn’t outsmart us too much!
Thanks Cascia, he keeps amazing me and cracking me up with all his writings!
Thanks Jenn! I am concerned that kindergarten will be a little to boring for him!
Thank you Steph! How’s Miss Ivy???
Thank you Ann, I do plan on saving these forever, and hopefully more!
Thanks VW Bug! His grandma spent a lot of time with him! Plus all the wonderful learning toys they have for kids now. I just hope he’s not bored in Kindergarten next year!
Thanks Laura, a tape recording of theirs brains would be so cool to hear all their wonderful thoughts!
Staci, thank you! He does most of his writing when he gets in trouble and has to spend time in his room.
Thanks Deb! I found another note where he wrote “Dear Dora, do you have a brain?”
Oh how that cracked me up!
