Thanksgiving Cards, seriously?

We got a Thanksgiving Card in the mail today.

At first I saw it and thought, “who is weird enough to send Christmas cards before Thanksgiving?” Then I realized it was not, in fact, a Christmas card but a Thanksgiving card.

Who invented this?

Don’t people have enough to worry about this time of year, some bozo has to go and invent sending Thanksgiving cards?

Or is this some evil plot to drive people crazy?

I am officially boycotting Thanksgiving cards, you should too.

And if you send me one, I will retaliate.

I boycott most occasion cards. There is Grandparents Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Valentines Day and I try to do birthdays and Christmas.

  2. Jessica H. says:

Lol I agree completely. One of my co-workers was sending out these before thanksgiving. When I commented on how she lucky she was to have her Christmas cards already done, she stated they weren’t for Christmas but for Thanksgiving! Agh! I can’t even get my Christmas cards out on time, I am not worrying about Thanksgiving cards!

  3. Stefanie says:

LOL That is odd! My sister would do that though. She send out Secretary’s Day cards to friends just to be a snot! lol I’ll give her your address!

  4. We got one from our car insurance company, and I thought it was weird that we were getting a Christmas card so early, just like you. Then opened it and saw – WHAT?? Thanksgiving card, what the heck??
    I like your motto!!

  5. trisha says:

someone can send me a thanksigving card! I like to be thanked.

  6. jakell says:

Yes it is weird..but what better way to say thank you and let others know how they have touched your life, its a great season to help us remember just what we are thankful for. No return reply or next year “must send card out” thoughts needed on it. Just be thankful someone appreciates you and are thankful you have touched their life.Just my thought. I don’t send Thanksgiving cards..but just sayin’ :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Thanks for your blessing in my life!

  7. I knew I was holding onto your mailing address for a special occasion at some point…

BRB heading to Walmart to find a farting turkey day card.

  8. Pam says:

It’s an evil plot fabricated by Hallmark to sell more dead trees… Boycott! Pass it on!

    ;-)

  9. Rhea says:

I’m sure glad I wasn’t the one who sent it…although I have one ready to go out in the mail to Afghanistan. Hope he doesn’t shoot me for it! LOL!

    • Kim says:

Rhea, sending one to a soldier is totally different. You can send a soldier a card because it is Wednesday and that is a-ok.

But it’s like buying someone a Christmas gift. Next year, they feel obligated, and then all of a sudden you have 50 people you are exchanging with.

Thanksgiving – eat turkey, don’t send cards. Official motto.

  10. Lori says:

Gee – I thought you would like my card. sniff. sniff.
