I have this afghan that my Mom made that I keep on the back of our couch in our living room. It’s the middle of summer plus I like that afghan to remain where I put it, on the back of the couch.
Inevitably, Jake removes it and I find it in a pile on the couch or the floor.
Today I found it that way again and our conversation went as such:
Me: “Jake, I told you to leave the afghan alone.”
Jake: “I didn’t do it.”
Me: “Well then who did?”
Jake: “I didn’t do it.”
Me: “You must have.”
Jake: “Pablo did it.”
Oh, Pablo did it.
By now you should be wondering who Pablo is.
He is one of the characters on The Backyardigans.
So, in trouble for not telling the truth is balanced out by extreme creativity?
What do you think?

Well, it’s better than what I did as a kid. I tried to blame the cats….for everything. We had two and those poor kitties-they got blamed for paint on my parents new leather couches when I was painting golfballs (no idea why?!) and for the cut on the old couches when I was cutting a piece of cardboard with a razorblade-yes one single perfect smooth cut. I blamed it on Misses. At least he’s a little more creative! ha
He does owe you Mannequin!
Yes. Extra points should be awarded for creativity.
In the real world, honesty and creativity run hand in hand. Think of it, what is more “real” than a creative expression?
Jake owes me one.
