Sony Reader Words Move Me Giveaway Winner Announced

Well, we have a winner in our Words Move Me Sony Reader Pocket Edition Giveaway!

We had A LOT of great entries and I learned about some great new books to add to my reading list, but I could only pick just one winner.  I actually made a list of my top 20 entries and I asked my Mom help me pick from there because it wasn’t an easy choice.

So many of you had books that obviously had a profound impact on your life or hold special memories for you, but there was one entry that stood out as a book not only impacting this person’s life but literally transforming it and quite possibly saving it.

#24 Eve @ Letters to Breathe

This one is difficult, there are quite a few books that have made an impact. But I have to say that Wally Lamb’s “She’s Come Undone” would be the number one. A good friend gave it to me just after I was hospitalized for attempted suicide, not the first time I had been there either. I had been depressed and in and out of hospitals for years because I pulled stunts like that. I thought there was something terribly wrong with me, that I was broken for good.

I read the book in the hospital, between all the therapy groups and art projects, and reading that book made more of a difference to me than every group they made me go to. I had already been diagnosed with Borderline Personality, but I never understood it until I read the book.

Reading it was like watching a movie of myself, it was both sad and amazing to learn so much about my ‘condition’ in that way. I have read the book about seven times since then, and I have yet to attempt anything stupid or have to be hospitalized since. Going on 5 years….

that got out of hand, I only meant to write what the book was! LOL Sorry!
