I wanted to get a picture of Jake with his cool new haircut.
Just a nice smiling picture.
Here is the first shot I ended up with:

As usual, the kid can’t keep his eyes open when he smiles.
So I tried again..

and again…

and again…

I thought we were almost getting it, and then…

I really think he was losing interest…

Last try and…..um….no.

So, I may never have a nice picture of my son just smiling and looking at the camera, but really I think the goofy faces are much more fun and indicative of his personality!

Too cute! He looks so grown up! I like the second one – Popeye!!
Such cute pictures!
Aw! What a cutie.
Oh I also say, “Don’t you smile”, “Don’t you dare smile” when trying to photograph my kids and usually it works like a charm to achieve a ‘real’ smile.
Good luck in the future!
Oh my gosh, he’s a cutie!! And Mama, the pix are great just the way they are.:)
first, he’s adorable! i love short cuts on little boys. second, my trick for getting my jake to give me a decent photo is to say, “stop smiling. i mean it! stop!” and he starts giggling and i shoot. another thing i do is to just have a conversation while i snap. try it and let me know how it works! either way, you got some cutie pie pics!
Thanks Cheryl, we appreciate it! One day I have to take a picture of my husbands and sons heads together…same head, smaller body!
Jenn, do you think they do it on purpose?
I LOVE his squinchy-eyed smile! Darling pictures.
(And we’re big fans of the buzz cut boy phenomena, too!) Found you from Lit and Laundry…will be back!
HA, my son Jorden does the same thing! Always with the squished up cheeks that make his eyes look completely closed! Glad to know we’re not alone in this! lol
