She’s no baby

I was informed, rather matter-of-fact like, that my two year old daughter is not a baby.

She was tired, and fell down and hurt herself  so I was holding her like a baby.

I was trying to talk her into taking her nap 1/2 hour earlier and was rocking her and I called her my “baby”.

As I set her down I said it again and she said “no!”

Then she said “Not baby, Abby!”

Al-righty then!

  7. I remember when my (now 13-yr old) was 4. He seemed very grown up one day and we were having an involved discussion at lunch. All of a sudden he just fell off his chair! And then I remembered 4 is not that grown up!

I’m glad my 3yo is still happy to be my baby. I’m not ready for the “I not a baby” rebuttal yet.

I am so not looking forward to when my daughter tells me that. Hopefully someday they’ll realize that no matter what they’ll ALWAYS be our babies.
