(ENDED) Seventh Generation project laundry line giveaway

This giveaway has ended.  The winner is #420 Sheila Hickman.

I had never dried my laundry on a clothesline.

Never even considered it.

Recently I was contacted by MyBlogSpark and Seventh Generation and CHALLENGED to line dry my clothes.  Not only that, they sent me everything I needed to give it a try, including some Seventh Generation Natural Laundry Detergent and a video camera in order to record my reactions.

For me, line drying my laundry and using the Seventh Generation Natural Detergent is a dual-benefit.  It is an environmentally conscious decision, because the detergent is plant based, but it is very helpful for our family budget as well.  Washing in cold water and line drying saves enough energy that could mean $200 in savings a year.

Below is a video I took roughly 2 weeks after I first started line drying some of our clothes.  I talk about the laundry line challenge, what I received in order to participate, and my reactions to it so far.  Please forgive the fact that I had to hold my own video camera (my son kept taking videos of my feet and the top of his own head), and I swear I do not have a double chin.

So far, for us, I am excited to continue to line dry our laundry AND use the Seventh Generation Natural Laundry Detergent.  My husband has NOT had a reaction to it and I never would have believed that my clothes smell cleaner than when I use the dryer or dry them inside.
