The polls have closed and you have selected a winner!

With 209 out of 929 (22%) votes, Lisa from Crazy Adventures in Parenting has won the $300 Protect-A-Bed Scholarship to help with her Blogher expenses!
Congratulations Lisa!!!!
Before I wrap this up, I want to take a moment to commend Shellie at Blog 4 Mom because at the last minute, she was willing to give up her spot as a finalist to help Lisa win. We didn’t actually remove her from the contest because we didn’t need to, Lisa had already garnered enough support to win, but we did want everyone to know about the selflessness and fantastic support that women in the blogosphere have for each other! I don’t know that Shellie wanted or expected any glory for this, but she’s gonna get it, because it brought tears to my eyes. Here is what she said:
I have to say writing my post for a chance to win the scholarship was a ton off fun, and I was so excited to be apart of the voting, but I need to ask to be removed. You see I have spent the weekend reading all of the other entries, and #6 from “Crazy Adventures in Parenting” hits a little close to home. She is a military wife also, and a mom to SIX kids (OMG on that one). I have sponsors for Blogher, the Scholarship money would have come in handy for a new mini laptop for me, but SHE really deserves the win, and the mommy get away Blogher is to bring her. I now Military pay isn’t the best, and with 6 kids she can use this more than I can at this time. Please withdraw me for the contest effective now, Monday 5-18-09 and if possible give her the votes I have received. Thanks for the chance to win, thanks even more for a chance to read about such a fantastic military wife and mom.
Protect-A-Bed would like to thank all of the 10 finalists and everyone who entered the contest for their wonderful entries.
Lisa, Protect-A-Bed will be in touch shortly to work out the details.
Also, Lisa and everyone else…see you at Blogher!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Lisa!
Shellie, that was a really generous and kind thing, your comment made me tear up too.
Have fun at BlogHer ladies!
Congratulations Lisa! Hope I can get a chance to meet you at the conference!
Yay! Congrats Lisa, I’m so happy I’ll get to see you in BlogHer!!! Thank you so much Protect-A-Bed and Accidental Mommies for a great giveaway!
Way to go Lisa! I hope to see you there!
Congratulations Lisa! I think Shellie is a winner as well :)
The last time I sat down at this computer was earlier on in the morning, when I saw what Shellie had written, and I cried buckets of tears. I stepped away from the computer in awe of such an incredible gesture, and hugged my babies (scared at mommy cryin’ like a fool lol) because it’s for them that I do this, all of this, I mean, THEY started it, doing their crazy things they do, making me laugh, cry, and wanting to share this crazy life I lead with anyone willing to listen. Never in a million years did I ever even expect to win (ask Kim, she’ll tell you, I almost didn’t even enter!)
Shellie, I tried to say it earlier (as I couldn’t seem to muster up the appropriate words) but what you said, your words, meant the world to me and was the biggest gift ever! I canNOT wait to give you a big ol hug (and cry, cuz I’m a sissy-la-la like that) in thanks for your gesture, and even though I’ve been told I’m a good hugger (lol) it doesn’t seem nearly enough. NEAR-LY enough.
So, here I am again, after many-a doctor’s appointment today, sicky babies, sniffly noses, coughs-a-plenty, just setting back into the squishy desk chair here and again, bucket of tears (damn, am I a big ol baby or what?)
I am beyond humbled, honored, flabbergasted and so many other words I can’t seem to convey at the moment (so consider this in advance if this is one big jumbled mess of a thank-you).
Thank you so much Kim for hosting this contest and for convincing me to enter and to ‘throw that frisbee’. ‘Cuz I did, despite where it landed, you were right to tell me to take the chance, win or lose, whether I won or not, ‘throwing the frisbee’ felt good, and taking that chance meant no regret. Who knew, though, right?
Thank you Protect-A-Bed for having given us mommy bloggers this opportunity. It meant a lot to me to know, regardless of who won, that you were going to help someone get there. It was an honor to even make the top 10! And now, to have won it? It’s like a dream! Thank you isn’t enough, really. To be honest, I don’t think I’d be attending without having won this, so by winning it’s truly a blessing and secured my fate in attending my first BlogHer conference! (Seriously.. I can honestly say, I’m going now!!!!)
Thank you Shellie (again) for your words, your kindness, and for so much more I can’t put into words.
Thanks to everyone who helped me retweet, spread the word, and garner support, including blog posts (!!!!! Totally floored, people, really!) I have spent the entire week on cloud nine from your gestures alone, making me feel like I’d already won by your friendships and show of caring. Win or lose, that meant a great deal (and expect some gushing on my blog later!)
And to all 209 of you who took time out of their day to vote for lil ol me, thank you immensely!
I really need to end this before it becomes a novel, especially since it’s taken me over a half-an-hour to attempt to write because of my poor sickies needing me.
If there were something to say more than thank you, I would say it, I would. But since there isn’t, I will just leave it as – thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
congrats to lisa and cheers to shellie!
Congrats Lisa! So exciting!
Congrats Lisa! How sweet Shellie!
WTG Lisa!!!
