Planking

Planking is a new craze people are doing to have fun, and for the most part it’s safe and innocent.  I’m not sure I “get” why it’s that funny, but I’m intrigued that other people find it amusing.

According to Wikipedia:

“Planking” (or the “Lying Down Game”) is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. Both hands must touch the sides of the body and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the Internet is an integral part of the game.[1] Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play.[1] The term planking refers to mimicking a wooden plank. Rigidity of the body must be maintained to constitute good planking.

Since early 2011, many participants in planking have photographed the activity on unusual locations such as atop poles, roofs and vehicles. Planking can include lying flat on a flat surface, or holding the body flat while it’s supported in only some regions, with other parts of the body suspended.

I think overall planking is good harmless fun but some people have died from it while others have been convicted of crimes while doing it.

Take a look at some pictures of people “planking”:

I am sure I am going to come off as up-tight here, but I do not think this is funny at all. “Planking” is how we used to bring slaves over from other countries. They would take a piece of wood, lay 3 or 4 human beings on them and chain them down, then add another piece of wood and do it again. There may be lots of humans planked on top of each other and that is how they would come over on the boats. Not funny in my opinion, but then like I said, people might look at me as up-tight.

Seriously? What is wrong with you? By your twisted logic we shouldn’t call pieces of woods “planks.” That’s offensive.

Anyway, your last name is Foster. “Fostering” a child means raising it in absence of its parents. That reminds me of the terrible conditions in orphanages in foreign countries. That’s what you’re promoting, and that’s terrible.

You have some serious issues and should probably benefit from either reality or intensive psychotherapy.
