Pampers are evil.

I don’t buy Pampers.

It has nothing to do with Pampers themselves, they are very reliable diapers.

But I’m cheap (some would say frugal, others bohemian…I’m just fine with cheap).

I buy the most plain, generic diapers I can find and they work just fine for my daughter.

Well, a couple of weeks ago I had a coupon and the Pampers were on sale making them just slightly more expensive than the generic, so I figured I’d buy the Pampers this time to see how much different they really are.

Bad idea.

Let me explain something.  Generic diapers are boring.  Uninteresting.  Plain.  Ugly even.

Pampers are cute, colorful and fun, see?

And look the kids will love them because Elmo is on there.

Yeah.

Think about that.

Do we really want our kids interested in the diaper?

Do we want them trying to play with the diaper?

WHILE IT’S ON AND DIRTY?

Let me illustrate for you the problem with cute, fun, Elmo diapers:

She’s trying to take it off TO PLAY WITH IT!

And let me tell you….she succeeded.

Again.

And again.

And again.

But ONLY with the Pampers.  She has no interest in the boring ones and LEAVES THEM ON!

Hello?

Diapers are not toys, and frankly I don’t enjoy chasing my daughter around the house neked hoping she doesn’t pee on the couch before I can get another diaper on her only to have her remove it 10 minutes later.  “Mom, Abby took her pants and diaper off again” is a phrase I really could do without hearing multiple times a day, or EVER.

But you know I’m too cheap to NOT use a box of 82 diapers I spent $16 on, and apparently I am a glutton for punishment.

I tried putting them on backwards but she’s on to me.  She studies me as I put them on and take them off and in 2 days I am positive she will be back to her old tricks.

I need to find the duct tape…or better yet, anyone wanna buy and opened box of size 4 Pampers?  All reasonable offers will be entertained.

Clear plastic shipping tape works better than duct tape. Just wrapt it all the way around.

    Cute pics.

I could never find myself paying extra money for Pampers I always got great deals on the Luvs diapers.

OMG That is not funny. But that last picture of your daughter is hilarious, she is so cute.

  4. Maybe the novelty will wear off by, oh, say diaper number 50??? That is so funny… she looks like a deer caught in headlights in the picture, “Uh, oh, mommy caught me takin off the diaper…oops!” She is just too adorable to get mad at, but I don’t live with her…
