We’ve taken pink to a whole ‘nother level

The girls are taking riding lessons, and Madeline did not have shoes with a heel. So, off we went to Farm & Fleet (jealous, ain’t ya??). They had three boot offerings: faux alligator skin, dark brown boys’, and here’s what we came home with. This is your future, Kim.

pink cowboy boots

And here’s our cowgirl enjoying a patriotic bomb pop.

These boots were made for walking, and that’s just what they’ll do, one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you. Are you ready boots?

Ped Egg and Skin MD - great alone, superb together - a review

Do you have feet?

Most people do.

If you don’t, you still might be interested in part of this review so don’t go anywhere.

Ped Egg

Ped Egg review

I got a Ped Egg because quite frankly my feet looked like the Arizona desert and I’m just not old enough to have feet that look like I’ve walked 1,000 miles barefoot.

Here is a picture of my foot before I used the Ped Egg:

Ok, so not really, but did you actually expect me to post a picture of my own crusty foot?

Not another diet pill, Alli and others

No Comments yet, please be the first! »

I stumbled across yet another “fat-burning” diet pill. This time it is Anoretix and again when I read about it, it sound a lot like all the others as far as promising what it can do. They promise patented ingredients, #1 ratings and clinically proven results.

That brings to me to an opportunity I may have to try Alli, which is advertised as a weight-loss program not just a pill and claims to be the only pill approved by the FDA.

Still….the jury is still out.

I’m not really sure if I should try it if I get the sample month they promised me because I am concerned about the safety of these things in the long run.

Would you?

Would you try Alli?

Lego Fruit snacks, a fun snack or asking for trouble?

lego fruit snacksI recently came a cross this article: Train your kids to swallow a choking hazard with Lego “Fun Snacks” and at first of sort of discounted it as someone over-reacting.

I thought about it some more, and I can see his point, at least where smaller kids are concerned, but in general I don’t think they need to pull them from the shelves. Parents need to just do their jobs and be diligent and careful when buying them for their younger kids.

I think too many parents are looking to avoid certain things all together rather than teaching our children the proper skills to handle them.

What do you think? Should they pull the Lego fruit snacks off the shelves because they could possibly cause more kids to choke on the real Lego’s? And by the way, the little tiny Lego’s say 4 and up for the simple sets, the more complicated sets say something like 7 and up.

This weeks blurb is about:

New York Nitty-Gritty.

New York Nitty-Gritty is a blog by Otilius, and is not your ordinary blog. There is nothing to read there, unless there happens to be a photo of a sign of some sort. Otilius photographs and posts images from New York City and they are always fantastic, beautiful or thought provoking!

Go check out New York Nitty-Gritty, get a feel for the real New York city and live vicariously through the images.

Accidental Mommy Moment of the week #1

This week my husband has been spending his evenings helping out his buddy who operates a store that sells fireworks. Fireworks are legal here in Indiana and the Fourth of July is my husband’s favorite holiday!

Anyhow, with him gone in the evenings, I am stuck with the responsibility of making dinner for my children (well, Abby is easy…baby food or formula).

I’m pretty sure that I’ve mentioned this before, but I am a disaster in the kitchen. I’ve tried to cook for my family but it is just not a skill I possess. So this week we’ve eaten no less than 3 frozen pizzas, Taco Bell and cereal for dinner. I let my son choose!

The good news is, I’ve actually learned how to cook a frozen pizza! All 3 times I remembered to remove the cardboard, unlike this incident I posted about awhile back: A little cardboard never hurt anyone.

Sharing the Love Award

I received this special “Sharing the Love” award from April at That Crazy Mom who received it from Dette at Muthahood Crib who received it from Sue at Stay at Home Mom, who received it from Spice from Spice World, who received it from Crystal at Memoirs of a Mommy.

From the Share the Love Award creator:

The rules of this award are: SHARE THE LOVE!!! Share this award with all those blogs out there that you love. All the people who make you smile. All those that make you laugh. All those that make your day. All those that leave uplifting comments on your blog. **All I ask, is that you include a link to this post with the award and ask your recipient to do the same**

As you may have recently seen on my side bar, I have finally created a custom blog award!! I have wanted to do this for a long time but never came up with something that “fit”. I didn’t want just anything. It had to be something that meant something to me. And what could mean more than Sharing the Love by giving you pieces of my heart??

So I created this award in Honor Of The Donor That Saved Noah’s Life. I share this award with those of you whose love and friendship have enriched my life and made my world a better place.

I hope by passing this award around the blogging world we can all help raise awareness of the need for Organ Donation.

I am proudly passing this award on to the following:

Jenn at The Peacock’s Nesting Place

Lauren at Supermom Central

Vanessa at Nessa’s Place

Deb at Mom of 3 Girls

Mannequin at Fractured Toy

Free cat products

Fresh Step cat litter has introduced a reward program called Paw Points. For each bag of litter that you buy, you earn points towards products ranging from free litter to calendars to pet medicine. A 21 lb. bag of Fresh Step earns 35 points, and simply signing up and completing a short survey on the website earned an additional 30 points.

Back when we had four cats, I could have easily earned this fab cat chair. Of course, not one of my cats would actually sit on it. They never did anything they were supposed to do, but I guess, isn’t that part of the definition of cats?

So, if you have to buy cat litter, you might as well get some free stuff while you’re at it! Unfortunately, they do not have someone who will come and clean the litter box for you.
