Diet pills anyone?

Would you take diet pills?

View Results

Loading ... Loading ...

I keep seeing ads for diet pills, especially generic Phentermine. What is this stuff and does it work?

I know some of them claim to be all natural and that they often suggest that you need to follow a sensible diet as well but do people waste money on these things that could be harming their bodies when all they need to do is add exercise to the sensible diet?

I’m not suggesting that losing weight is easy, but I really question the miracle pill.

What do you think?

Free Paid Surveys - how and where do I find them?

This article is the third in our series of in-depth discussions regarding free paid surveys.

If you missed any of the previous articles, you can access them on our Free Paid Survey Series How-To Page.

We have also begun highlighting the different legitimate survey companies. The first panel discussed is Synovate. You can learn more by checking out the post: Free Paid Surveys - Synovate Global Opinion Panels

WHERE NOT TO LOOK FOR FREE PAID SURVEYS

  • Search Engines
In general, if you type “Free Paid Surveys” into a search engine the first few thousand pages are filled with sites that will lie and mislead you. It is very difficult and time consuming to wade through all the thousands of sites to find the legitimate ones, especially when you don’t have to because others have done it for you.

A Watch for Father’s Day?

There are so many great gift ideas for Father’s Day that my head is spinning! I know a ton of stuff that my husband would want, but much of it seems like stuff that is for the whole family, like grilling or cooking items.

I would love to be able to get him something nice, that he wouldn’t normally have on a list for himself, but that he would end up loving. I guess that is everyone’s idea of a great gift, right?

So, I thought of getting him a watch.

I found a watch that I really LOVE, although the price is just too much and I’m not sure if the color would allow him to wear it with all his suits, but in general, I really think he would look fantastic with this particular watch on his wrist.

The watch is by Seiko and is called the Seiko SPB011 Men’s Premier Automatic Brown Dial watch. I found it at BlueDial.com.

I love the watch because of the color. The brown is so striking, I’ve never seen a watch like that before. I really think it would look great both with casual dress and professional work attire.

Here’s some info about it:

  • Premier Automatic Collection.
  • Stainless steel case.
  • Brown leather strap with push-button deployment clasp.
  • Brown pattern dial with silver tone hands and markers.
  • Date.
  • Precise Japanese self-winding automatic movement. New generation of movement offers better accuracy, longer run time, time stop when crown is out, and manual wind option.
  • See-through case back.
  • Scratch resistant Sapphire crystal.
  • Water resistant to 100m.
  • Case measures 42mm diameter by 11mm thick.
  • 3 years original manufacturer warranty.

It’s a bit out of my budget, but they do have other lower priced Seiko watches at Bluedial.com. They also carry Citizen, Movado, ESQ, Bulova and others. and have FREE 2nd day shipping.

It’s the thought that counts, right? I thought about buying him a $400 watch!

Annoying people - a minor rant

We went to an old house tour this morning, and while everyone was well mannered, there were a few people who exhibited some really annoying behavior. So, next time you’re on a house tour, try this Top 5 list of ways to annoy people if your feeling bored!

5. Stand exactly in the middle of a doorway. Not because the room is too crowded, your wife is the only one in there, but just stand there and take a good, long look.

4. Stand one foot in front of the poster resting on the floor which explains the items in the room. This position prevents any one from reading the poster. Proceed to have a conference with your friends about which room you are going to next.

3. Walk right in front of someone taking a picture.

2. Even though the tour guides explicitly told you to use the large stairway for going up and the smaller one for going down, go ahead and use those smaller ones to go against the flow. Be sure to bring a couple of friends.

1. In general, just be oblivious to everyone around you. Try to get in the way.

Okay, I feel better.

No wait… one more. We are, yet again, under a tornado watch. At least it’s not a warning. But, man, am I tired of rain.

Okay, now I’m done….

Hey, who swiped my pen?

In our house, almost daily, is a conversation that goes something like this:

Me: “what did you do with my pen?”

Man: “pen, what pen?”

Me: “THE pen, the pen here in the kitchen.”

Man: “I didn’t take your pen.”

(in most cases I find the pen in some strange place where he obviously left it - I would never leave a pen in a strange place…)

So what does one do when people keep swiping your pen?

You know, THE kitchen pen. The one that belongs in the kitchen.

I tried buying a huge pack of really cheap pens and just pulling one out every time they disappear and you know what, I RAN OUT of pens from the really cheap pack.

So, I think I’m going to get some of those logo pens that businesses get with their name on them.

Instead of a name, however, I’m going to put sayings like this:

  • This is a girl’s pen.
  • I am a girl because I use this pen.
  • Touching this pen is like wearing pantyhose.

Not sure if it will work, but I’m desperate.

Someone keeps swiping THE kitchen pen!
