Our Sam’s Club Holiday Blitz experience

Yesterday my son and I went Black Friday shopping.  We didn’t go at the crack of dawn. I wanted to, but it just didn’t work out for us.

We arrived at Sam’s Club a little before 8am and while we missed the excitement of the rush of 150 black friday warriors waiting in line outside the store and swarming in as the doors opened at 5am, we did manage to get one of the very last of the ONE MAIN Holiday Blitz deal I hoped to take advantage of at Sam’s Club.

While not packed by the time I got there, there were plenty of people still shopping the Holiday Blitz deals, especially in the electronics area.  A lot of people are getting LCD TV’s for Christmas this year, I can tell you that.  And Sam’s Club was prepared, they even had some of the bigger TV’s already on flat carts to make it easier for you to claim and purchase them.  Half of the shoppers, at least, had one of the smaller LCD TV’s in their carts and I even saw a couple of shoppers pushing around flatbed carts with the bigger ones.

Jake and I spent over an hour there, browsing around, watching people Christmas shop and eating.  We missed the complimentary breakfast (well, they had some yogurt left when we got there, but they had almost run out of everything and were closing up).  But that’s ok because it gave me an excuse to get one of my favorite treats of all time.  A Sam’s Club hot pretzel!!!! Yum-my!

In the middle aisle next to all the electronics is where they had set up a table with some of the smaller items available for the Holiday Blitz deals.  They had a great system set up where you come to the table, get a pull ticket, they set your item aside, you pay for it, then return to claim your item.  I thought this was brilliant because I thought…what if I have a deal item in my cart and I have to go to the restroom and leave my cart unattended (yes I worry about these types of things)?  When I was there (although people scattered when I was taking pictures LOL…) people were still browsing this table and when I left I swung by there and they had half as much left as when I first got there.  It seemed like everyone was taking advantage of great deal pricing and simplifying their holiday budget by getting the perfect gift at a great price.

My son and I both enjoyed our Sam’s Club Holiday Blitz experience on black friday.

Next year, I am going at 5am.  Definitely!

  1. Oh you crazy, crazy girlie… I didn’t even get out of bed until noon on Friday. I did some online shopping, but that was all.
Glad you had a good time and got some good deals. Hope the rest of your holiday shopping season goes just as well.

That is awesome that they already had the big TVs on flat carts ready to take out. Makes shopping so easy :)

How fun! I always hear stories of people shopping early on BF and it sounds great in theory, but getting up that early never sounds so great in practice when the time actually comes. BTW – We also love the pretzels (they don’t overbutter them like most places) and icees at Sams!

  4. wow ! I guess I missed a good sale ! Maybe I’ll give them a try and see whatever other good deals they have ! http://www.icoulduseadeal.blogspot.com jtrophy at gmail dot com

That’s the Phillips tv we wanted but couldn’t find and people were so in line waiting to purchase them. Ahh! They did a good job though with having everything in place despite the chaos!

We were there late, didn’t even see the breakfast setups, LOL. I’m impressed with their toys selections and prices. Grabbed lots to every kid on my list. And I agree that it’s fun for just looking people running around grabbing and shopping for holidays in stores.

  7. I was very impressed with all the electronics our Sam’s had! I bought the red (pretty!) Phillips Dual DVD system for my van. Used it on the way home. Loved it!
