Trisha shared this with us tonight during our Friday Night Live radio show and I felt like I had share it with all of you – because it might help someone realize that paranoia and being over-protective are sometimes a much better alternative to trusting someone you barely know and risking this kind of behavior towards your child. I’d much rather offend someone and make sure my kid is being treated right than find out this was happening in my own house by someone who came highly recommended.
Warning…this is seriously disturbing.
I’m not kidding.
There might even be tears.
The video below shows just a small portion of it. If you want to see more, you can see a 3 1/2 minute story about it here: Nannycam Video Lands Babysitter In Jail
The video took my breathe away.
These people trusted someone to CARE for their child and look at how he was treated.

HOLY….!! That one is one of the worst one’s I’ve ever seen. I nearly started to CRy that poor baby and I want to kick that womens Ass! Oh man I so want to kick her …
It’s sad, but we never know what our children can go through with babysitters. This is the reason i’ve chosen to be a stay at home mom. I lost not one, but 2 relatives, as babies. These incidents were years ago, but have affected me to now. One babysitter was just careless and claims to have forgotten my nephew in the tub. I was a freshman in high school and hung around the hospital hoping he would come to as I saw him on child support. I would get a dizzy feeling just to know my nephew was dying and couldn’t stay in the same room long. The other, I suppose was just outright mad and couldn’t take the baby crying any longer and pushed him down the stairs. I think the latter only got 6 months.
Wow, those are such sad stories.
I could never imagine leaving my children with a stranger either, luckily I stay at home now and before I had that chance, my mother-in-law watched my son when I worked.
Just went back and watched the entire news clip. She better hope for jail time or that father (if he’s anything like my husband who commented, watching behind my shoulder)will probably get his own justice.
Isn’t it awful?
Would she even survive in jail though? Even criminals don’t like people who abuse children.
Honestly, I could care less whether she’d survive or not.
Wow! Have to go get the full story on this now. How do you justify that kind of behavior with a child that’s not even a year old?
How did I not know about the Friday night radioshow? I will have to pay more attention and get in on that next week!
You know, I totally forgot to mention it. It’s just so much a part of my routine.
It starts at 8:30pm and goes for 90 minutes. You can listen through the computer and we have a chat room.

There is always info in there on Friday nights and email reminders.
Oh and you need a free account on Blog Talk Radio (http://www.blogtalkradio.com) in order to chat.
Man, you can’t trust anybody nowadays!! That is so sad. I would have beat her into the ground if that was my baby!!
Rachel,
I kept thinking about what I would have done if this happened to my child. I want to punch her and it wasn’t even my kid…in the longer video the dad says it is probably a good thing he watched the rest of the footage after he fired her and she was gone or he’d be the one in jail.
I literally gasped out loud when I saw this. And the tears came too. Wrong…just plain wrong. If I ever need someone to watch my child…someone who isn’t family or a really close friend….I will be installing a camera somewhere just in case.
This kind of thing happened with my cousin. He had been disabled since from birth (can’t talk, can’t eat by himself, can’t walk….etc). My aunt and uncle have round the clock nurses to help take care of him. A nurse taking care of him one day while they were out was mad about something having to do with taking care of him and purposely threw him onto the floor. Just before my aunt and uncle got home, she put him back in his bed. As if there was nothing wrong with throwing him. She broke his leg. And because of his disability, he couldn’t say that he was in pain or cry. Fortunately they had cameras set up around the house to prove it. (Although, the only reason the cameras were set up was so that they could find out what nurses were stealing their food). That nurse is no longer a nurse, and went to jail. She was also the nurse stealing the food too. :(
Rebecca,
I did the same thing. Just completely horrified I gasped out loud more than once.
That is so sad about your cousin but at least she went to jail.
I can’t watch. It is little comfort knowing that she is in jail.
I know…I really didn’t know what I was watching until I got into it, I mean I didn’t realize the extent of it…
I want to throw up. That is the most awful thing I’ve ever seen! How could anyone justify doing that to a child no matter what he’s done–and that little baby is 11 months old!
I hope she goes away for a long, long time!
Me too…it’s just terrible…
!!!!! I have no words! There is NO PUNISHMENT on Earth that she can get that will be enough to make her pay for what she’s done to that poor sweet little baby. None at all…
I agree…
WHAT THE HECK? I would have beat the crap out of that nasty woman. If anyone laid a hand on my child, there would be consequences. I hope she rots in jail and gets the tar beaten out of her.
I know, me too.
