We do not eat very much fast food, definitely less than once a week, but when we do of course my kids want the meals with the toys in them. Abby is not even two so I always have to ask for an “under three” toy for her. The last few times we had been to Burger King, Abby got the exact same toys she already had. They are nice toys (except for the cell phone which is a stupid piece of falling apart crap before we even left the restaurant) made by Little Tikes, but they NEVER CHANGE. In fact, I think a couple of them were even the same from when Jake was little.
I had always noticed that we never got the same toy twice at McDonald’s, even for the under three age group, and I had always noticed they were cute and unique. But today, Abby got the coolest little toy ever in her Happy Meal.

It’s a little barn with a sun that goes up and down to reveal a rooster, a door that opens to reveal a chicken and a barn door that slides to reveal a horse and Ronald McDonald of course. Whoever is designing these Happy Meal toys deserves a pat on the back. It is creative, interesting, interactive and durable.
Oh and Jake got a Lego Racer toy complete with stickers that he got to put on it. Again, a GREAT toy that is durable and fun that he will be able to play with for a long time.
Look, I know that a cheap plastic toy is really not very important in the grand scheme of things, but for my kids it is a treat to eat out, even for fast food, and let’s be real – it’s all about the toy where they are concerned. To me it is unacceptable, months later, to have the same damn toy. They’re kids and it breaks their little hearts to get junk that breaks minutes within opening it or to get the same toy they already have. And in my house, it is usually the kids who dictate where we go if we are stopping for fast food, and again – BECAUSE OF THE TOY.
So thank you McDonald’s for getting it right.

Yea! That is a GREAT toy. So cool that you have a better experience with McDonald’s than I have. I have always gotten the same toy for under 3 at McDonalds (Ronald on a wave or dolphin). What’s worse is the last 3 times we’ve gone to Sonic and asked for the under 3 or 2 toys, we don’t get them.
I don’t think I’ve seen that toy before. Good for McDonald’s to offer something that nice in their Happy Meals. Like you we don’t eat out that often and we especially don’t eat fast food that much.
That toy is very cute! Def something I think my youngest would like. I’ve been getting so sick and tired of the toys offered that I’ve been getting my two younger ones something they can share. It saves me toy drama over who has the best one and it also saves me time from throwing them away after I step on them for the tenth time in one day and then the crying that happens when the kids find them in the trash! lol
That is a cute little toy for the Happy Meal.
The Happy Meal toys are getting better. My wife likes the new American Girl Stuff. Not sure what it is.My granddaughter likes the lego cars.
Have a good day.
How cute is that? It’s much better than most of the happy meal type toys I’ve seen. Heck – I’d play with that!
It’s really nice to hear that a company as big as McDonalds has taken all their profits and done something really good with them.
That little barn is adorable ~~ I’d like playing with it, and I don’t have little kids!! :-)
I agree, totally. Thank you McDonalds!!
I used to eat the “All American Meal” which was a Happy Meal without the toy. Then when they discontinued that, I switched to a Happy Meal and gave the toys to friends with kids.
When I knew I was going to adopt, I starting saving them for my daughter. The toys are awesome! Once in awhile someone will comment on one of her toys and to their surprise, I’ll say, it’s from a Happy Meal.
Like Melanie, I noticed when the under 3 toys were not as great, but still okay. We collected quite a few little Ronald McDonald’s. We would “bowl” – set up a dozen Ronalds and use one of the cars as a ball to see how many we could knock down!
Anyway, I agree THANK YOU MCDONALD’S!!!
That’s really cute! I’ve always gotten my toddler the same toy as his brother because of them fighting over them, and because of the toys always being crappy everywhere else. I never gave McDonald’s a chance. based on our experiences elsewhere. I’m sorry.
I’ll admit we don’t eat fast food much, but when McDonald’s has the Legos and the Matchbox cars, we’re all over those, trying to get one each week as they change them. My boys love them.
That is cute! I am glad McDonald’s has changed the under 3 toys again. For a while they were giving out these ugly toys. When my son was little (he is 8) they had fisher price under 3 toys. I LOVED them. They were mini toys that fisher price had on the market and the happy meal toys were adorable.
We still have some of those from when my son was little! We have a little purple piano, a guitar and a few others that my daughter now plays with.
