Installation day – Frigidaire Affinity
June 22, 2009 was an exciting day around here. That was the day our brand new Frigidaire Affinity washer and dryer was installed. They were delivered and installed by Sun Appliance out of Valparaiso, Indiana.
The crew was great, polite, friendly, and very cautious and considerate. It actually took a couple of hours to complete the install because they had to assemble and attach the drawers and the pedestals. They then tested the machines to make sure they worked, and were careful about ensuring the gas line was completely sealed before they left.
Below are a series of photos from the install. For some weird reason I can’t find the picture of my old machines before they delivery crew took them out.
Before installing the machines, the crew from Sun Appliance told me that they had to order a new top for the washing machine because it had a dent in it, and that they would deliver it and replace the original as soon as it came in. I didn’t realize it until after the crew left, but they installed my washer on the right side, like the old setup had been but this setup does not work. Because the washer door hinges on the left and cannot be moved (the dryer can be hinged on either side), it is quite annoying to do laundry when you have to pull it out of the dryer, back up past the washer door and then put it in the dryer. Half of it falls on the floor. When they come back to replace the top, they will be switching the machines around. So, a word of advice if you buy a front loading washing machine, pay attention to how the door hinges before they set it up.

Kim, I have front loaders also and I have to do the same song and dance you do with the washer and dryer doors. Where do you live?? I live 45 min from Valpo, I love it there. I always go there to shop since I live in a small town.
