I’m good at my job.

Today after Abby’s bath I was doing the usual cleanup of bath-time aftermath…

…tangled hair

…wet towels

…dirty clothes

As I was coming out of Abby’s bedroom, she peered around the corner at me from the kitchen.

With a look.

THAT look.

The look all moms know means that the child is up to no good.

So I asked her, “what are you doing?” and the guilty look turned to indecisiveness.  Then she said “in here” and pointed to the one cabinet in our kitchen that doesn’t have a child latch on it.  So I surmised she had been poking around in the cabinet even though she knows she is not supposed to.

I told her “stay out of the cabinet, mommy has to go potty.”

And she stopped and looked at me.  Just stared.  So I turned to go down the hallway and quickly turned back to find her opening the cabinet.

I said “no, stay out of the cabinet.”

The little 27.7 lb two-year old person then proceeded to push me into the hallway, pointed down the hall and said “potty mommy, go potty.”  She reinforced her pointing finger by shaking it at me and repeated “go potty mommy.”

I tried to hold back the laughter, but it was HARD.

Not being born yesterday, I pretended to turn away, and turned back again and she had gone into the kitchen, but was peeking at me from around the corner.  Obviously waiting for me to go out of sight so she could go back in the cabinet.  So I turned the corner, heard her little feety pajamas shuffle across the kitchen floor and I went back into the kitchen and caught her in the act.

Boy was she ever mad.

I think she really thought she got the better of me.

That is too freakin cute! They get an attitude on them don’t they. My son always thinks he has got the better of me and forgets that Mommy always knows.

Go potty mommy… that is funny. With that face Abby has, she can probably get away with anything.
I also love that sound of the feetie jammies on the floor.

That’s the only one without a clip on it so she can get it open LOL. The baby-proofing clip broke off. There’s nothing dangerous in there, but on principal we are teaching her to stay out.

I love feisty little girls. my 2.5 yr old niece told my brother to “shhh, go back to bed” when he woke up to find her watching cartoons and eating yogurt with a fork.

LOL! What a turkey! That’s like Kelsie’s new thing. I sass her for being naughty and her response “Calm Down Mommy.” Thanks Kid. Trying to one up me.
