I bought a purse.

I had a purse that I have had for about 12 years that I would use on occasion when I absolutely needed one. Usually I just carry my wallet or take the few things I might need out and have my husband carry them in his wallet. Otherwise, I’ve usually got a diaper bag where I put my stuff. Well, I can’t find my purse. Normally I wouldn’t care, but I have a few things coming up where I need one.

We made a stop at KMart today to pick up some other things so i figured I’d check out their purses. I can’t even begin to tell you how uncomfortable I was in the purse department. “Trying them on” and opening them up just is not something I’m used to doing or feel comfortable doing. I was also irritated that a plastic purse would cost $20 or more, not to mention that fact that most of them are ugly or strange or way too big or very tiny.

Well, I actually hit pay dirt on the clearance rack. I got a $40 genuine leather purse for $8. It’s a little bigger than I hoped, but it was only $8!!!! Here’s a shot of it with my phone and my wallet to get a feel for how big it is. I’ve got room for food and all kinds of stuff in there! It has a shorter handle but fits over my shoulder or I can carry it by the handle and it doesn’t drag on the floor.

And here’s the price tag I am so proud of (although the regular price of $40 is hidden unless you have x-ray vision contact lenses):

I think I did pretty good for something I will only use a couple of times a year. It is simple and subtle and can accommodate anything I might need. It is real leather and seems to be good quality. And it was only $8!!!!!!!! I love a bargain!
