If you haven’t heard about Poken yet, you are missing out on the neatest new social networking accessory out there. Poken works like a digital business card and allows you to swap your personal information including all of you social networking profiles, with anyone you come across who also has a Poken. Not only does it keep you from having to worry about carrying around a stack of business cards, it prevents you from having to keep track of a bunch of business cards you collect when you attend an event. With Poken, it is all stored on your Poken until you upload it to your computer where it is organized and saved for quick and easy access.
When you receive your Poken, it comes in a little box with the Poken and a tiny strap that allows you to attach your Poken to a keychain. The clip is BRILLIANT because it has 2 parts so you can easily disconnect your Poken from your keys when it is time to plug it in to your computer. After you take your Poken out of the box, you need to plug it in to a USB port on your computer and head over to DoYouPoken.com to set up your free account and set up your Poken.

The website at DoYouPoken.com has step-by-step instructions for setting up your Poken for the first time and registering with the site. In fact, there is an html file on your Poken, that when you plug it into the USB port on your computer for the first time, all you need to do is double click that file it walks you through the sign-up. So easy!
After you create your account, you are able to go in and customize what information you would like to display on your digital business card and share with other Poken users. The interface took me a few minutes to figure out, but once I did it was super easy. And they even allow you to upload your own background to display on your Poken contact card.
Check out mine:

They tell you exactly what size your image needs to be to fit, so I created one in Photoshop and uploaded it right into my Poken account. When you view the “Poken card” the person’s webpage, email address and social network accounts are links so all you have to do is to click on them to take you right over to their pages.
Oh, and you can even name your Poken too. I might be easily amused, but I thought that was really cool!
I can’t wait to use my Poken at Blogher and really see it in action. In the meantime, he sits next to my computer just waiting for action!
If you are going to Blogher and haven’t gotten your Poken yet, what are you waiting for? You can get 20% off when you buy a Poken at PokenZoo by using the code: BlogHer2009.

I think that I need a Poken because I am so horribly unorganized. For instance, I have not even sent out the custom Christmas cards that I had made last year. I lost them and then found them a week after Christmas. I felt stupid sending them out then. So I am hoping to make some sort of sticker to cover the year and then send them out this Christmas. Of course, I will probably lose them again.
See? I definitely need a Poken.
While not going to BlogHer I am going to Type-A Mom and would love to have a Poken for that.
I need one because I am the most unorganized person ever! I will loose everyone’s business cards if I don’t have them on my computer.
I would def need a poken because i do not carry a purse! When you dont carry a purse you lose things like business cards. This would really help me!
