OK, I tried this on the wp-ellie theme I customized for Sarah and all the comments disappeared. CRAP.

The comments.php code is very different than the examples you have in this tutorial. ARRRGGGHHH!

Any ideas?

I have no idea then….even if it wasn’t styled right, it should still be applying it under the comment that was replied to.

The next suggestion is to start disabling plugins one at a time to see if any of them are comflicting. Not a fun task.

I’ll let you know if I come up with anything else…

thanks Kim. It still doesn’t seem to work – when I reply to a comment it’s making it a whole new comment (i.e. instead of being 2.1 it’s making me comment 3)

Katie,

I just added a bit of code to the end of the post. Your nested comments should still be working without it, but try adding it and see if it fixes it. Otherwise you may be having a plugin conflict.

Whoops, I spoke too soon. I can click on “reply” on my comments (enabled the Nested comments), but when I just replied to one, it added it as an additional comment, not as say comment 3.1 or something like that. Any idea what I might have done wrong? I followed your instructions to the T.
