How about a poll?

Ok, Kim, since you’ve mocked me about our TV channels, let’s have a poll. We stopped cable over ten years ago, because I got tired of paying for such a poor product. There was never anything worth watching. Over the years, I’ve thought maybe I was missing something. But, after random viewings of both cable and satellite, I realized that I’m not.

So, I’m curious. What do you watch on TV? What channel do you mostly watch? How much do you watch in a day? And, what does satellite or cable cost you per month?

I watch The Riches too only there are a bunch of episodes sitting in my DVR that I haven’t gotten to yet. We used to watch Rescue Me…is that still new?

  2. Jenny says:

I am also a reality show tv addict….there’s so much of it I just can’t stop! It seems like I am always watching VH1. I also love the shows on FX (the shield, rescue me, the riches, nip/tuck). And, there are some great shows on AMC. I am loving Madmen, Breaking Bad.

  3. Kim says:

Laurin, don’t forget the Pay-Per-View boxing…I know you just love it! :)

  4. Laurin says:

I’m actually a reality show addict. My favorites are on TLC, A&E, MTV and VH1. And my new favorite rerun is Will and Grace, which is on Lifetime. I rarely watch the free channels. I don’t know what I would do without cable.

  5. Nicole says:

We use to watch American Idol but now that all the strange and bizarre people from the beginning of the show are gone, it’s no longer fun to watch. Speaking of strange and bizarre, have you ever watched Yo Gabba Gabba? It’s kinda freaky.

  6. Kim says:

I watch American Idol too, although not as avidly as I did in past years.

  7. myra says:

i will admit to watching dr. phil and oprah. other than that, i never miss the office, 30 rock, american idol. if i have more tv time, i might catch boston legal which is just brilliant.

we have satellite with no pay channels, and luckily, i have no earthly idea how much it costs each month. ignorance is bliss.

  8. Kim says:

Nicole, the Koala Brothers theme song popped into my head after reading your comment.

    Does Miss K watch that?

“Always try to help! Be kind to one another. Share what you have with others. Helping others is lots of fun.”

    I might need therapy….

  9. Nicole says:

The only cable shows I watch is Disney, Nick Jr. and Noggin. I watch these show with my daughter. Other than that, my favorite shows are all on the basic channels. Our DVR consists of shows recorded from channel 5 and 7.

  10. Kim says:

I watch the following shows fairly regularly:
    Smallville
    Grey’s Anatomy
    er
    Boston Legal
    NCIS
    The Biggest Loser
All are on the FREE TV channels.

I also watch a few shows from the cable networks:
    Saving Grace
    Monk

Then the other major things I watch are on the History Channel. My favorite being: Cities of the Underworld, but there are others I watch.

I do like to watch some old movies on TCM as well.

I don’t actually watch much more than an hour or two a day. I TIVO everything and watch them at my leisure. I have stuff I taped months ago that I will likely watch over the summer when the network shows are re-runs.

We pay $59.99/mo for DISH Network satellite. We don’t usually rent or buy movies anymore or go see them either so it pretty much encompasses our entertainment budget.

Plus Jake likes to watch Noggin and we do like to listen to the Sirius satellite radio stations.
