Have you smelled this?

Every year since we’ve been married, my husband and I have had a real, fresh, Christmas tree. We love the smell and the atmosphere that a real tree creates in our living room each year. So, when I had an opportunity to get a real, fresh, wreath from Wreaths Direct this year, there was not even a second thought, I jumped at the chance.

I love this time of year not only for the Spirit it brings to people and the excitement in the air from kids and adults but for all the wonderful things that delight the senses as well. There are so many wonderful flavors, textures and smells that make an appearance during this season, and the smell of pine from trees and wreaths and even candles and other imitation scents is one of my favorites.

The absolute first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the smell of fresh pine. It smelled soooo good and I even called my husband over to smell it. We both stood there, bent over, and smelled the wreath as it sat inside the box. Getting the wreath out of the box was easy, it pretty much slid right out. I was surprised by how FEW pine needles were left behind inside the box. I would have expected more would have fallen off in shipping, but they didn’t. I set the wreath down on the table while we hung the wreath hook on the front door and then we hung it. There were a few needles left on the table after I picked the wreath up off the table, but not too many.

I examined the quality of the back part of the wreath while it was hanging and the frame of the wreath is made out of a very heavy gauge wire made into a circle, and the same heavy wire is used to attach the branches to it. The pinecones and the bow appear to be held on securely with a thinner wire. I tugged and pulled and they are very secure. We have a storm door on our front door and the wreath does get a little squished when we close and latch both doors, but it hasn’t affected it and it still looks fantastic!

Below is a photo of the wreath hanging on our front door. I had to leave the storm door open because the glass was fogging up because I kept going in and out while we hung the wreath.
