I am grateful for those retail establishments that are making offers. As to offering it to the spouses, etc….the only thing I can say, as an Air Force Brat, is I remember when my dad, a pilot for USAF, retired. And, we were getting ready to go into Andrews AFB, and as Mom was straightening something on me, I said….Gee, Mom, shouldn’t we be getting some award, too????? She smiled. I mean, I really felt we were in the service just as much as my Dad was. However, the best thing my Dad did for me, is to make it work that I did not have to say I graduated from Kubasaki High in Okinawa. He got us to Annapolis for that to happen. Thanks, Dad.
68 later we are fonally gettng some recognition. Thank you to all of those businesses recognizing our servce. We were glad to do it, but t is stil nice to e recognized. We love you then and we love you now for thsking ut
I am a Nam vet. WIA , Khe Sahn , and Ashau Valley . Won’t be taking advantage of the free meals .
But . I can’t believe the negative comments about the business’s that have offered the free be’s .
Like all other vets from that era , all I got was 2 years out of the work force . That meant that I lost a lot of money . That is history .
Give these business’s a pat on the back and a thank you for the gracious offer . Concider it a thanks long over due . My two cents .
well it actually is a gimmick and i am very thankful for the dinner and we will go tonight all im saying is they know vets will bring wives, kids and freinds and they might make money off this but hell im grateful for it hell i have never gotten anything for being a disabled before tonight dinner so im gonna go and say a prayer for my uncle and grandfather who were also disabled vets who are now gone and i willbe very thankful and be more than happy to pay for anyone who goes with thanks to all you fellow veterans out there and welcome home!!!…TLY 3rd Bn 11th FA Ft Lewis, Wa
