Fill in the Blankie sent me one of their personalized blankies to review. Since we have a new baby in the family (my husband’s sister and her husband), I knew just what I would order. Little Josephine will be getting an ultra-personalized baby blanket for Christmas this year.

Ordering a blankie from Fill in the Blankie is an easy straightforward process. They have detailed forms that guide you through the whole thing.
The first thing you do is pick a blanket. You choose by style based upon softness, by color and by size. They provide detailed yet easy to read information to help you pick the perfect one. Then you move on to personalize the blankie. You can select the embroidery message by theme (Christmas, birthday, baby shower, etc.) to see some examples and then you type in what you want written on each of the 4 sides of the blanket. Then you pick your font style, they have a lot of great styles! Finally, you pick a thread color from 14 different choices. There are a few extra options you can choose to truly personalize the blanket such as selecting glow-in-the-dark thread, using gift wrapping, adding embroidered icons, or including a plush animal friend.
For baby Josephine I chose to put her full name on the first side of the blankie, her birthday on the second side, her weight and height on the third side and finally on the third side, I had “Because grandmas should be remembered.” written because Josephine’s first name came from her mother’s grandmother and her middle name came from her father’s grandmother. I thought it was a great way to commemorate whom she was named after plus pay respect to Josephine’s grandmothers as well.
The blankie arrived very quickly, honestly I was surprised that I received it as fast as I did. I love the color, it is a pale pink/blush with a white satin border and purple embroidery. The blanket and the satin are soft and high quality and I can’t wait to see my sister-in-law’s face when she opens it for Josephine on Christmas day when we all get together to exchange gifts. I know she is going to cherish it forever!
One thing that Fill in the Blankie encourages, which is different from ones normal instinct when you receive an heirloom quality gift, is that you actually USE the blankets. The blankets are designed to be used, to be loved, and not just sit on a shelf gathering dust. In fact, they include an insert with the blankie when you order it that reads:
