Dew

Last week, during a foggy morning, the kids and I found hundreds of spider webs in the yard which were covered in dew.  We were fascinated by the architecture of the webs, and the dew drops that covered them.  We spent about an hour taking pictures and just observing.  Don’t worry Kim, no actual bugs will be shown!

This delicate web is my favorite.  I love the ‘huge’ droplet in the center.

This one reminded me of pearl necklaces.

Is anyone else thinking of Disney’s “Fantasia”?  Admit it, Kim, they’re pretty cool even if they were made by bugs.  Besides, spiders are good – they eat all the other bugs!

  5. Those are gorgeous photos!! I will admit the webs are so pretty, but I would be so worried about where the spiders are. I know in my HEAD that they are good, but I just can’t get past the “ich” factor.
    Thanks for the beautiful post.

Yeah! You admitted it! I couldn’t believe all the webs – really, there were hundreds. Walking through webs gets me the same way, except with my short attention span I don’t spend more than 3 seconds wondering where the spider is. :> As for camera envy – it’s certainly the camera and not the user.

  7. Wow, what great pictures! Spider webs make me shutter. Normally, I just walk through them on accident (LOL).

    Your pics are amazing!

  8. Pam says:

Surprising to find that spider webs can actually be very beautiful! ;)

They are pretty cool. You know what I like about the dew? Makes the webs easier to see. Nothing worse than walking around your house and through the yard only to discover you just walked through a spider web and you can still FEEL it on you.

Then spending 3 hours wondering just WHERE the spider went and maybe even feel it crawling on you.

Amazing pictures though. I have camera envy.
