It’s not often that I find myself talking about how “cool” a toy is when my kids are playing with it. Honestly my usual thought is more along the lines of “good, they like it, now I can get some work done.”
Every once in awhile, however, a toy comes along that I am drawn to and want to sit and not only watch them play, but play with it myself.

The Maximum Mayhem playset, though daunting, was actually fairly easy to put together. It is also designed to make it easy for kids to change the track around however they like!
I was shocked at how quickly my kids took to this toy and continued to play with it – together – for hours. I thought for sure that it was a “boy” toy, but my daughter seemed to enjoy it even more than my son.

These little trucks pack a whole lot of quality playtime into them. They play with them with or without the tracks and enjoy racing them. I was surprised they actually run on the carpet! I also like the variety and details of the vehicles.
I like how easy it is to setup the tracks and take them down to store them, and that the trucks work well even without the track set. We haven’t tried them outside yet, but I am anxious to see how well they run on the grass and the rocks.
A couple of things we did notice about the Defiants – first of all, the trucks seem to need to be on the low gear setting in order to make it up the steep track incline. Also, some of the pieces parts fall off the trucks (grilles, etc) but we assumed that because of the rough nature of these trucks, that it was intentional. We can easily put them back on, and they usually fall off when they crash into things.
