I’ve mentioned Don’s chemistry demo shows a couple of times, right? There was this picture of Gretchen lighting her hand on fire. So, what the heck is a demo show? Don and his co-workers perform all kinds of chemistry experiments usually involving fire and explosions (or ‘splosions as they’re called around here). Check out this video of their Christmas show.
This was a ‘quiet’ show because it was more family oriented with lots of smaller kids. Most demo shows have several explosions that shake the chalk off the chalkboard. In an effort to keep improving the show, they have set off the fire alarms in the building several times. Once the firemen have made sure everything is clear, they want to see the experiment! They like those kinds of calls.
Don is the guy on the right juggling the flaming snowballs, and the one who ends up covered in soap suds. That’s Gretchen lighting her hand on fire again, and Jessie is the other juggler. Whatever you do, don’t ask me to explain anything that they are doing. I just like the pretty colors.

Chemistry is cool ;)
This reminds of the time I burned my hand in college chemistry.
Brilliant! : )))
This so reminds me of all my classical childhood “scientific” experiments! : )))

I sooo wish I could have been there to see that. They remind me so much of my high school AP Chem teacher…by far my favorite subject.
Oh my goodness, is that your hubby? Too cool!
Yep, that’s him.
Thanks for your comments! These shows are so cool! My kids have become totally blase’ about them, though.
That is awesome!
Cool!
