What They Want for Christmas – vtech V.smile Motion

We like technology.  We embrace it.  While we don’t have blackberrys and all the super techno latest gadgets, our lives are pretty much surrounded by computers, TV, video games, cell phones, iPods and more.  And we don’t mind.  I know that some parents completely avoid or severely limit their kids exposure to some of this stuff, and while we don’t let them play 24/7, or  even every day, we’re not overly strict about the video game usage in our house.  For example Jake played a couple of video games yesterday for maybe 2 hours, but then when his friends came home from school, he played outside for over 2 hours – in 32 degree weather.

I think the key, especially in a day and age where technology is so integral in our lives, is moderation and supervision, but it helps when something fun is also challenges the mind and body so kids LEARN.

The V.smile Motion from vtech is an “Active Learning System” with breakthrough technology that combines motion-activated play with educational gaming.

The video below explains it all!

The V.smile Motion has similar functionality as the Wii does, but designed to be used by younger kids.  The controllers are designed with large buttons and with a shape that is easy for little hands to hold, and it even switches around to accommodate left or right handed kids.  Add to it games designed around your child’s favorite characters such as Disney Cars, Dora the Explorer and more, this system is the perfect solution for younger children who want to play a motion activated game and parents who want an educational toy.

vmotionEspecially during the winter months when kids spend so much more time inside, the V.smile Motion as a great way for kids to be active, entertained and learn a little something to boot!  Plus with the Wii being so popular for older kids & adults, this system will give the younger kids a way to feel like they can participate and play, but with controllers designed to be more durable and for smaller hands.

Seeing this toy under the tree this year will certainly make any preschooler through first grader very happy.

You can purchase the V.Smile Motion at Amazon.com or better yet, currently VTechKids.com has it on sale for $39.99 (traditional blue and orange or pink) plus you can use the coupon code BIGSAVINGS and get 20% off, plus there is free ground shipping which will still get to you in time for Christmas!  You can also pick up a second controller for $17.99 and all the games are on sale.  Add your 20% off and free shipping and you will not find a better deal on the V.Smile Motion and its games and accessories.

I was given a V-Motion by VTech for inclusion in this gift guide. I was allowed to keep the product, but the opinion I am sharing remains my own

I’ve always trusted VTech products, the little ones always have a mini version of the big kid toys.
    Thanks for the review!

  2. I agree that kids should be exposed to technology (with supervision and in moderation as you said) because we live in a techno world and it’s a skill they are going to need. VTECH has come a long way!
