As many of you know, we recently lost our German Shepherd Max. He actually had a long battle with an infection and the pain just got to be too much so we “sent him to Rainbow Bridge” as they say. You can see my tribute to him here: In Loving Memory - Max. Thank you everyone for all the wonderful sympathy and kind words about Max.

Anyhow, we still have another dog, Simon, that we raised from a wee pup of 8 weeks old.

I went to Wal-Mart tonight with the kids. I needed some cheap rugs for my laundry room and was kind of desperate to get out of the house. We had a lovely dinner at Taco Bell where we froze while eating our tacos. The good news is that Jake ate 2 whole tacos!

Anyhoo…then we made our way to Wal-Mart, or should I say “Planet Wal-Mart”? You could seriously live in this store. It is the ’super’ kind and had the following things INSIDE the store (like you would never have to leave):

• McDonalds
• Eye Care Center
• Nail Salon
• Hair Salon
• Bank
• Photography Studio

And considering they are your typical Wal-Mart PLUS a full blown grocery store, it seriously could be its own planet!

Too bad their bathrooms are the slums……

I’ve never really considered men’s jewelry aside from a watch, as a gift for my husband or any man I know. I realize that some men must wear this kind of stuff, otherwise it wouldn’t be sold, but I don’t know any who would and don’t believe I’ve ever seen anyone who does.

In general that ring is not too awful or tacky but you still would have to pay my husband a whole lot of money to be seen wearing any ring other than his wedding ring.

Speaking of rings, do you know any men who still wear their high school or college rings?

I woke up this morning and I could tell something wasn’t right.

I hadn’t slept too well because although Abby slept pretty good and was putting herself back to sleep when she woke up in the middle of the night, I was not expecting it so remained awake anticipating the need to get up and get her.

Anyhow, in my stupor this morning I lay in bed trying to figure out what I was missing. Did I leave something on? Did I forget to do something? Was something going on today that I forgot?

Then it hit me.

It is Tuesday.

Ok, so then I had to figure out why Tuesday meant something more than it usually does.

We recently painted my daughters room.

Pink.

On pink.

Yes, we did 12″ wide dark pink stripes on one wall over the light pink we did in the entire room.

And we bought her a new ceiling fan.

A pink one.

And I’m looking for a new lamp.

With a pink shade.

I’M NOT A GIRLIE-GIRL!

So why am I so obsessed with pink?

I’m even looking at pink baby bedding and curtains! (the picture is NOT of Abby’s room, it is of the bedding I like)

There seriously might be something wrong with me!

I might require medical attention.

I realize that some people take their “rides” very seriously.

We do…we want to make sure they run well and remain safe for our family (Don’t buy a Buick Terazza, BTW, if you are in the market for a used vehicle. Trust me.).

Some people seem to want to turn their cars into marquees and the Las Vegas strip.

What is the point of custom led tail lights? You will never see them yourself except when parked in your driveway. Do people simply like thinking that when other people are driving, they are looking at the vehicle with the custom tail lights thinking, “that guy has got it going on, his car is cool?”

If money were no object, I’d go get one of those bras for cars.

Now that is cool!

What job do these people have and how does my husband get one?

I found this site that lists condos for sale or rent around the world and being sort of an armchair traveler I was looking to find one in my price range.

Well, fat chance there, but I did find one condo hotel that rents for $1,600 a day in Florida. The Regent Bal Harbour is in Bal Harbour, FL which looks just beautiful, but at those rates we could pay off our house in 4 like months.

When I came upon Sunset Malibu drug treatment centers I thought it was a vacation resort. The grounds and the facilities are like a high end hotel and vacation destination. It looks so peaceful and relaxing.

Now I know that many people have serious addictions and places like this do help, but my first instinct was to think that it is no wonder so many celebrities go into rehab. LOOK AT IT!

I’ve been to Malibu, California and, let me tell you, that is truly the place to go for rehab. There is no pretty, more relaxing scenery in this country.

The girls were so excited when we first got to the cottage, that they wanted to snap some pictures. Naively, I said “Sure, go ahead,” and off they ran. Well, here are a few images I found on my media card.

That’s what I get for giving a camera to a nine and five year old.

Yup, I did.

I got an email that told me so.

I have gotten no less than 3 phone calls today from women asking me to vote for Barack Obama in the Indiana Primaries. They asked for me, by name and assumed I was voting for him and wanted to make sure I was giving my full support by going to vote today. I have never done anything or signed up for anything that would indicate I’m either a Democrat or a supporter of Obama. So how did they get my unlisted phone number and why do they keep calling me?

I’m not an overly political person but I do have certain conservative viewpoints and am the wife of a retired military veteran. In general I am a Republican but would support whomever I believe matches my views the best. I vote for things that help support and encourage family and moral values.

So anyhow, politics aside, how did I get on a list that I am so far opposite of? Do they just randomly call people hoping to trick them into believing they should support Obama, even if they don’t? The one woman actually said to me, “well, even if you aren’t a Democrat, could you help Obama for us in THIS election?”

It was weird and really made me hesitant to answer the phone any more today!
