My son loves anything with his name or picture on it, plus he is a huge fan of fruit snacks and Fruit Roll-Ups, so when I had the opportunity to personalize a box of Fruit Roll-Ups, I knew that they would be a big hit in our house!
My Fruit Roll-Ups is a website where you [...]
I’ve been reading a lot of blog posts lately about CPSIA. I admit I had no idea what it was and mostly just moved past those posts and on to something else. But the other day I paused long enough to read one, and now it has me concerned.
CPSIA stands for “Consumer Products [...]
For New Years Eve we were invited across the street to our friends, the Kravitzs’ house for dinner. Around 4:45 pm I headed upstairs to get everybody dressed to make the long walk across the street at about 5 pm. Jake had been in his room and when I went in there he [...]
The kids got some wonderful gifts from our families this year and one particular gift that Abby received was a Dora the Explorer ride-on thingy from my parents. I thought for sure it would take forever for her to figure out how it worked. She had it figured out the next day. [...]
Ok, so I am not giving away Brendan Fraser. If I had him I’d keep him. But I do have something to give away if you keep reading.
Inkheart is a new film starring Brendan Fraser (*sigh*) that is based upon the bestselling book trilogy by Cornelia Funke. Inkheart is an adventure film [...]
After Abby was born, she was diagnosed with a milk protein allergy. I’m not going to go into great detail because I wrote a post about it here: Our Insurance is paying for baby formula. So she spent her first year on a prescription baby formula design for babies with this allergy and [...]
Don’t you love when a song triggers a great memory? It doesn’t matter if the song is great or terribly cheesey. The memory just makes you smile. Last night, we heard the song Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas, and all I can think about is Kim’s wedding.

Kim’s black [...]
On December 23rd, late in the evening, I won a prize from Momdot to receive a call from Santa courtesy of Santa Speaking.
We received the call on Christmas Eve day around 10:30 am and as much as you can’t tell, Jake was pretty happy. Overall my experience with Santa Speaking was great! It [...]
Awwww…is there anything cuter than this?
Guess who set the stove on fire? NOT ME! I once set an electric stove on fire (it is a gift to set a fire without a flame), but this time it was Ed. Luckily it was confined to the stove. I couldn’t help but think [...]
not-so-wordless…These are our Christmas cards this year, done by Myra over at Moon and Back Studios. I love them, they are exactly what I envisioned and she was great to work with and put up with me. I wanted the cards to show a picture of each of the kids in January and [...]
We were watching the 1938 version of “A Christmas Carol” the other night, and noticed that one of Tiny Tim’s sisters looks an awful lot like Kim.
Scroll forward to the 7 minute mark. The girl drying dishes in the front is June Lockhart. She doesn’t look as much like Kim from the front, but the [...]

I am still hoping that Santa will be bringing me a Nintendo DS this year. I’ve seen some of the games available and I know I would love them, and a new set of games by The Game Factory looks right up my alley as well. [...]
Santa came early for us again this year in the form of Virginie at Petit Baby. Adding to our already brightened Christmas spirit, she sent a wonderful gift for each of the kids and I cannot thank her enough for thinking of us.
I am totally blown away this year by the support and generosity [...]
“When life held troubled times, and had me down on my knees.
There’s always been someone there to come along and comfort me.
A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand.
A phone call from a friend, just to say I understand.
And ain’t it kind of funny that at the dark end of the road.
Someone [...]

After 27 years of searching for their sons killer, John and Reve Walsh finally have some closure JUSTICE. CNN and other major news outlets are reporting that Ottis Toole a convicted pedophile and killer, now deceased, confessed to the gruesome killing of Adam Walsh and the case has been closed.
I cannot imagine what these [...]
So it is almost Christmas.
There should be a wonderful glow of excitement surrounding us and flowing from us, and an all around festive mood that defines everything we do.
There should be….
People probably wouldn’t blame me if I was crabby this year. My husband is job hunting, which means an already stressful time of year [...]
When you get married, you both usually bring with you baggage from before you are married. No, I’m not talking about the emotional kind.
I’m talking about crap.
The kind of crap that you hold on to for years, afraid to part with it, yet you have no use for it. My husband and I [...]

Christmas Stocking Stuffer Ideas
Over at Momdot, there is a discussion in the forum about ideas for stocking stuffers. I am sort of new to the Christmas stocking thing. We always celebrated Christmas when I was a kid, and I believed in Santa, but I can’t recall having a stocking, and if we did have them, I don’t remember anything special about them. When I met my husband, his family always had Christmas stockings and there were always gifts in them to open on Christmas or Christmas Eve.

New parents almost always receive baby blankets as shower gifts and often as Christmas gifts for their child’s first Christmas. Often these blankets are either handmade, or personalized in some way or another with the baby’s name and birthday. And sometimes in these cases, the [...]
Really, just feet.
Most of us have them, and except for the baby ones, most of them are not that fun to look at.
Well today I just love feet!
For the first time ever, I experienced teaching something to Abby sort of real-time. We actually started yesterday. She had gotten a couple of dolls for [...]
Thursday was Jake’s birthday, the big 5! Since Abby turned 1 on Thanksgiving, we actually had their party together last weekend, but on Thursday we still wanted to do something special for Jake so my husband said we should take him out to dinner. When we asked Jake where he wanted to eat [...]
Both of my kids have worn disposable diapers from the time they were born. I admit I never even considered cloth diapers with my my son, and with Abby I thought about it for about 5 minutes and the thought of having to clean a cloth diaper was just too much for me. [...]

When I recall memories of Christmas from my childhood, they often revolve around waiting for Santa. I remember the excitement of going to bed knowing that in the morning, there would be gifts waiting under the tree. The idea that a jolly, fat man in a [...]
