Can a Picture Make a Difference?

Did you know 1 in every 110 American children have some form of Autism Spectrum Disease (ASD) and another child is diagnosed every 20 minutes?

And caring for a child with fastest growing developmental disability isn’t cheap. The lifetime cost of caring for a child with autism ranges from $3.5 million to $5 million.

“In fact, studies show having a child with autism is more stressful than having a child with any other disability. You worry about finding treatment and being able to afford it,” says Dr. Patricia Wright, Easter Seals Act for Autism expert.

It is in the spirit of charity that Century 21 Real Estate LLC and Easter Seals have launched the 21st Century Child: Picture the Future. This photo-sharing contest, running now through the end of September, benefits Easter Seals’ Act for Autism, the leading provider of services for children living with autism and their families.

How can you participate?

Upload a picture of your child (age 5 and younger) and add a quick inspirational note. Throughout the contest, participants – whether personally affected by autism or not – are encouraged to rally their friends, family and social network to fundraise on their child’s behalf.
For every photo uploaded CENTURY 21 will donate $1 (up to $100,000) to Act for Autism.

A $2,100 Apple Gift Card is up for grabs to whoever raises the most money for the cause, and the next 6 highest fundraisers will snag an Apple iPad!
Children inspire us every day. Now they can help other kids, too – because when you share their photo, you’re helping kids with autism to picture a brighter future.
