Blanket Clipz by 3 Kids Designs – a review

My daughter is what we call a “spitter” and by that I mean that she always has spit coming out of her mouth. Whether it is drool from teething or spit-up from eating, the front of her clothing is always wet, and the arms and shirt of whomever happens to be holding her is usually soaked too. Because of this phenomenon, we don’t go anywhere without a burp cloth or 7 and she has come to rely on the burp cloths for comfort and likes to hold it or “chew” on it much of the time.

One of the problems we have with her constant need to have a burp cloth at the ready is that they are not always easy to hold on to and they end up on the floor, the ground and generally misplaced.

I recently discovered a product that sounded like it would be a great solution for our problem, and they were nice enough to send me a sample to try and I was nothing but pleased with the results.

The Product:
Blanket Clips by 3 Kids Designs are a unique, modernized and expanded twist on an old-fashioned idea. At first glance, they look similar to the old straps that moms used to use to attach mittens to kids coats.

But Blanket Clipz are much more than mitten straps. Blanket Clipz come in a range of cool modern patterns and you are sure to find one that you like. The fabric is durable, and very attractive and is not stretchy like I remember the old mitten clips to be. I believe that to be a positive thing because I could imagine stretchy fabric would pose potential injury if a small child pulled on it and the metal clip snapped back at them. The set I received was “Retro Stripe Miami” and I just love it! The craftsmanship is superb promising many years of repeat usage. The clips are simple and strong and not at all easy for a child to remove themselves.

Usage:
As I mentioned, our favorite current use is to keep my daughters burp cloths close at hand, whether it is attached to one of us, her car seat or stroller, and to keep it from falling on the ground. Other uses include:

  • To attach a blanket to a car seat or stroller
  • To create a bib from a napkin or towel
  • To attach a snack bag to a stroller, car seat or shopping cart
  • Create a nursing cover from any blanket
  • Any other use you can think of

There really is no limit to the things Blanket Clipz can help you secure from infants to school age children, there are probably hundreds of uses, and you know what, you could even use them as mitten clips!
