Playskool, a division of Hasbro, is a household name when it comes to providing quality toys for children.
Their motto, “more than play” really illustrates that Playskool understands that for kids, playing is learning.
Play is nature’s preschool. PLAYSKOOL was founded on that simple idea more than 80 years ago, and today, experts in the field of child development agree.
Play gets little ones up and active. Play stimulates the senses, engages the imagination, encourages curiosity, and empowers children’s sense of self confidence by allowing them to discover the world at their own pace.
And play does something else too…
Play lays down important foundational skills needed for advanced learning like reading, writing, mathematics, critical problem solving, and conceptual thinking, to name just a handful.
And that’s what this site is all about. Here we hope to show you how your child learns through play. Because behind all those giggles are the foundations of your child’s physical, intellectual, and emotional development… foundations that will last a lifetime.
That’s why we say it’s More Than Play.
One of the Playskool products that stands out in my mind as a classic toy that has stood the test of time, is Mr. Potato Head. I recall playing with it as a kit and today my kids enjoy it as well, in fact my daughter loves it (especially wearing the glasses…herself…).
Playskool is another very generous supporter of our Because It’s Christmas Kids & Charity event, and for our first prize group, our age 2 group, Playskool is providing a Mrs. Potato Head toy.

The classic, face-changing friend for kids! Comes with lots of accessories for mix-and-match play. (Store extra accessories in a compartment built into the potato body!)
My daughter can’t get enough of her Mr. Potato Head toys. She puts the pieces on, takes them off, then repeats the process, each time making a different, unique character. It teaches her hand-eye coordination, and expands her imagination. She pronounces it “potah” and it cracks me up every time she says it.
Playskool has generously provided a Mrs. Potato Head for our giveaway, but also has provided one that is being donated to the Household Pantry at the First United Methodist Church in Lowell, IN. As I mentioned previously in our intro post, the Household Pantry is a unique organization in that it does more than provide food for families. And this year thanks to Playskool they will receive a Mr. Potato Head to help brighten a needy child’s Christmas.
