Because It’s Christmas - Kids & Charity Giveaway

Because It's Christmas

It’s that time of year again where the air turns crisp, ghouls and goblins run loose and we all anticipate turkey and the big fat man in the red suit who inevitably arrives so much faster than we realize. The “holiday” season as it is referred to more and more, is a season for family and gift giving, but it is also a time to reflect on the world around us and the needs of others, especially children. The spirit of Christmas exists in so many wonderful places and in the hearts of most Americans during this time of year, and we are no exception. We have teamed up with Alyson from 3 P’s in a Pod and 3 P’s Mama Says for a unique project for this Christmas season.

Our basic plan is to give away toys!

We’re giving away toys to our readers but more importantly, we are giving away toys to some needy kids and some very deserving charities.

We are scheduled to begin on November 10th by announcing some great charities and starting the giveaways. We have some fantastic sponsors lined up and are very excited to be able to make Christmas brighter this year for some needy children and for our readers.

If you have any suggestions for charities that focus on children during Christmastime, please feel free to leave a comment here.

Hi my name is tanisha, i am a mother of three my oldest daughter is 18 years of age and struggling to attend collage @ Northridge Cal State my husband and i try the best we can to support her, but when it is only one income it is quite the struggle even with two incomes it’s a struggle, she so desperatly wants a lap top compotuer for xmas. my second child is also a girl who is in her senior year @ Western high school. She only wants clothes for xmas in the form of gift cards from various girls stores. Last is my son who is 11 years old he wants x-box games for his x-box 360 he enjoys war games past and present, he needs clothes. this had been a pretty good year leading up to 11/14/2008 when my husband lost his job-a week later my mother died of cancer which had been expected, however you can not predict these things. As difficult as it was we had to put the funeral cost together with very little help from extended family. then december came and we spent our last bit of money to pay the rent and power and water bill. my husband has landed another job with First transit but he does’nt start until 12/15/2008 too little too late. i too work but my next check will only be enough to pay the rest of our utility bills and a little food. I have never been in this situation before and it is really hard as you may well know. I am at my wits end. Please, if you can offer any help to my family to have a enjoyable x-mas…Thank You ooh so much…Tanisha

    Tanisha,

I so sorry to hear about your troubles, it is so hard this time of year. My husband recently had to start job hunting so I understand completely. Unfortunately our Christmas giveaways have ended, but we are giving away some other great prizes if you check along the right side of the screen.

I wish you and your family the very best and I’m sure things will look up for you soon.
