Like the Let’s Go Walking Puppy, the first thing I noticed about the Helicopter from North Star Toys when I opened the box was the smell of freshly sawn wood. I don’t get to experience it that often, and it smells fresh and pure and safe.

The Helicopter is about 7″ long and maybe 5″ tall. It is sturdy and has 2 propellers that ACTUALLY WORK. There is a pilot that can be removed from his seat, and the landing gear provides a steady, sturdy base for when the Helicopter lands. All of the edges are smooth and rounded so little hands will be protected, and the 2 tones of wood really make the propellers and the landing gear stand out.

I was incredibly impressed with the craftsmanship of the Helicopter. I wiggled and jiggled and twisted and pulled at the landing gear and the propellers and they were extremely sturdy and will definitely stand up to a lot of crash landings, which it is sure to have in my house. Jake is going to LOVE the Helicopter. He loves vehicles of all kinds and I know this one will be no exception, especially with the removable pilot. That little guy is sure to be forced to visit every surface in our house before his travels are over!

This is a toy that I can easily see us passing down to Abby and then putting away for when our kids have children of their own. Imagine the history and the stories that can be shared by Jake when his own child plays with a toy that he once played with!
