The next gift we are unwrapping in our Kids & Charity Giveaway is a COMPLETE SET of All Star Buddies (which is 7 plush Buddies) to be given away to one of YOU and a set of 7 Buddies will also be given to charity to the Household Pantry at the First United Methodist Church in Lowell, IN.

All Star Buddies is a virtual online world created by two moms who love sports and who make healthy living a priority. Their mission with All Star Buddies is to provide a virtual world that is safe, educational and entertaining.

As sports lovers, they chose the sports theme because it offered the opportunity to speak to kids using real game concepts and ideas in an imaginative and virtual way. The sports theme also allowed them to incorporate important lessons such as problem solving, teamwork, good sportsmanship, fitness and good nutrition throughout the games and adventures so that kids would be exposed to these messages while playing. Other concepts like taking care of the environment and the importance of staying active and playing real sports are important to the All Star Buddies team and can also be found throughout Varsity Heights.

The All Star Buddies online world is completely FREE to join and play! Once there, your child (designed for ages 6+) will pick a character from one of the seven types of buddies and get to customize them with different features. They can then explore “Varsity Heights” to play, learn and discover all sorts of wonderful places.

Each of the online Buddies has a plush version of themselves. There is Chip – the golf ball, Ace – the baseball, Deuce – the tennis ball, Deke – the hockey puck, Swish – the basketball, Blitz – the football, and Striker – the soccer ball. Each Buddy has their own unique distinct personality and each one comes with a special code that unlocks bonus items within the online world.

I spent some time familiarizing myself with the All Star Buddies website. I took the tour, read the parent’s information and just looked around, and I had a lot of fun. I could picture Jake creating his online Buddies and really having fun exploring the world, playing games, and learning all kinds of wonderful things. The fact that he will also be able to interact in the real world with the same Buddies is something that he will really enjoy.

The plush Buddies are bigger than I thought, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. I envisioned them to be not much bigger than my hand – smaller than a softball, but they are much bigger than that! They stand on average about 9″ tall and unless they grab them by the foot or hand, a child would need 2 hands to hold on to them. The Buddies are also really soft and have great details such as shoe laces, hats and glasses.

Jake is really going to enjoy both the virtual world of Varsity Heights, and all seven of the All Star Buddies. Without even realizing it, he will learn important lessons associated with team play and sports in general, that will serve him well in all aspects of life. I am sure all seven of the Buddies will earn a place on Jake’s bed…which means I’m not exactly sure if there will be enough room for Jake too!
