Every day we are hearing about how the economy is in trouble, how banks were bailed out because of sub-prime mortgages and how the American people as a whole are suffering while we just hand over money to these banks. From everything I’ve read, Wells Fargo was not as heavily involved in sub-prime lending and are even in a bid to buy out Wachovia Bank if they have not already done so.
Wells Fargo currently has an initiative called “Someday Stories” where people were asked to send in their stories of their dreams. From a parents hopes of sending their kids to college, to women wanting to start their own business, people submitted their dreams and 5 finalists were selected to have their dreams come true.
Along with the “Someday Stories,” Wells Fargo has teamed up with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Habitat for Humanity and Junior Achievement and will be giving a total of $450,000 to these charities ($250,000 to the highest vote getter, $150,000 to the next highest, and $50,000 to the third).
To learn more about this, see the 5 finalists entries, and vote for both the “Someday Stories” finalists and for the Charity of your choice, visit Wells Fargo Someday Stories.

Maggie,
We’ve been with them for a few years now and in dealing with some of their different products, I have found they are not only much easier to deal with, they don’t have all the same fees as other banks. I am really glad I bank with them.
I was so happy when I first heard about Wells Fargo’s contest. I have banked with Wells Fargo for 35 years and have never encountered any kind of problem with them. For years someone or another would try to get me to switch to a different bank, but I have remained loyal. Now I am so glad that I have. Kudos to Wells Fargo Bank!
Thanks for commenting, I appreciate it!
I was excited when I read about this…disappointed I missed the initial entry period to submit my story, but excited because it shows compassion and well-placed charity!
That is really great to hear. Thanks for sharing that.
