Dapple Baby Safe Cleaners - review and GIVEAWAY
THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED AND COMMENTS ARE NOW CLOSED.
Dapple. Say it out loud. Dapple. It’s fun to say! But Dapple is a serious business because it addresses a need that many parents are concerned with.
Dapple is actually a line of cleaning products that are safe and natural and designed specifically for households with babies and small children. Dapple was started by 2 moms!
From the website:
When we first became moms, we found a market full of “baby-friendly” products – from gentle laundry detergent for babies’ clothes, to mild shampoo for babies’ hair.
But there was nothing specific for the very items that our babies put into their mouths each day – their baby bottles, cups, and dishes. The dish soap products we used left a synthetic fragrance behind, and we were always concerned about lingering suds. We also soon noticed a persistent odor and film on our bottles that conventional dish liquids never fully removed.
So we had an idea. What if there was a dish soap that could easily remove the residue and odor from breast milk, formula, and baby food? That was low foam and rinsed easily? That was natural-based and healthier for the environment?
With the help and hard work of several experienced pediatricians and a team of seasoned chemists, Dapple Dish Liquid was born. And because we know busy parents don’t always have the time to wash their dishes by hand, we also introduced Dapple Dishwasher Detergent .
We’re excited to share with you the first-ever bottle and dish cleaning products for babies – mom-tested, pediatrician-approved. We invite you to explore our web site to find out more, and visit often as we release our full line of baby-specific cleaning products.
Dapple sent me 2 of their cleaners to try out, the Dapple Dish Liquid and the Dapple Toy Cleaner Spray.

Dapple Baby Safe Dish Liquid
These are the features of the Dapple Dish Liquid:
- Rinses fast
- Natural-based ingredients
- SLES- & dye-free
- Fragranced with pure lavender essential oil
- Only biodegradable, environmentally safe ingredients
- Not tested on animals
I found the Dapple Baby Safe Dish Liquid to perform as it claims. It cleaned the baby bottles and nipples and a bowl that had baby food in it and I love at how fast it rinsed. In the past, it would take a ton of water to rinse all the traditional dish soap out of the bottles, the Dapple rinsed so much faster and I felt better afterwards that I didn’t have to be so concerned about residue, not only because I didn’t notice any but because Dapple is so much safer than traditional dish soaps.
Just because I was curious, I did try the Dapple on a very greasy frying pan. It did not cut through the grease like I needed it to on that pan, but it doesn’t claim to. For normal dishes like plates and cups and silver wear and the bottles and other things that had formula, milk and other baby foods in them, it cleaned them very well.
The Dabble Dish Liquid also smells good. It smelled fresh and clean, kind of like a new baby!
Dapple Toy Cleaner Spray
These are the features of the Dapple Toy Cleaner Spray:
- Natural Based
- Phthalate-free, paraben-free, SLES & dye-free
- Fragranced with essential oils
- Biodegradable
- Not tested on animals
I LOVE the idea of a toy cleaner spray. Abby has always been a spitter, and she still spits up somewhat. Plus now that she eats Cheerios and other little snacks, her toys get really gross and crusty really fast. In the past I’ve cleaned them with water and a tiny bit of regular dish soap, but I was never completely comfortable with that. The Dapple Toy Cleaner Spray solves that problem and does it with a convenient spray. I also clean off Abby’s high chair, tray and other things like our cabinet doors that she spends a lot of time touching. The Toy Cleaner Spray smelled as good as the Dish Soap!
The Bottom Line
Any parent of babies or young children should consider Dapple for cleaning bottles, cups, toys and other kid stuff. Any time you can clean using safe and natural products, I think you can only help your child. Dapple works and is safe! And they have a Dishwasher powder if you have an automatic dishwasher.
The description of “What’s Inside Dapple” on the back of the Toy Cleaner Spray fits right along with my philosophy:
“Dapple toy cleaner features green technology and harnesses the power of natural ingredients, such as baking soda, to keep your home and the environment healthy and clean. In line with the latest medical research, dapple is not antibacterial. It works like a thorough wash with soap and water allowing baby to build up a strong immune system while enjoying clean surroundings.”
If you would like to purchase Dapple, you can use their Dapple Locator by zip code or buy it online at Diapers.com.
Win Dapple!
Dapple has generously donated a bottle of their Dish Soap and a bottle of their Toy Cleaner Spray for one lucky What’s That Smell? reader!

Tamar Rosenthal and Dana Rubinstein, the founders of Dapple, are real life moms. They saw needs that weren’t being met by products already being marketed, so they came up with solutions that have solved problems for other moms. Their products sound wonderful. I have often wondered how many chemicals we are ingesting off of dishes that have been washed in our usual dishwasher soap.
Thank you for the opportunity to win!
